Greater and Greater…

1 Chronicles 11:9 “So David waxed greater and greater: for the LORD of hosts was with him.” [KJV]

Whenever God is with someone or something it will grow to be greater and greater. Now this verse uses the word “waxed”. It means to expand, increase and enlarge. Whatever you are doing for the Lord it has the potential to expand greater and greater, increase greater and greater and enlarge greater and greater. This happens simply because the Lord of hosts is with you.

Each of us passes through seasons where it seems like things are not increasing like we think they should. These are often the winter seasons of our lives. They are times where everything seems dormant but in reality these times enable us to rest and refresh for the upcoming season of growth and fruitfulness that is arriving next.

Just as David waxed greater and greater, we can wax greater and greater because the Lord of hosts is with us. As we unreservedly follow Jesus, He makes each one of us so much stronger than we were 2 years ago, 1 year ago or even 6 months ago. Why? As God is with us He proves His greatness in our lives making it greater and greater.

This week seek to expand, increase and enlarge in your knowledge, understanding and intimacy with God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit and allow Him to cause you to become greater and greater!!!

It’s time for Prophetic Promise …

Romans 16:26 “But now as the prophets foretold and as the eternal God has commanded, this message is made known to all Gentiles [nations] everywhere, so that they too might believe and obey him.” [NLT]

Did you know that God has prophets who speak out His plans and purposes for nations?

Fernandez de Quiros discovered the land of Australia in 1606, he prophetically prayed and proclaimed over our nation that it was to be called “…the Southern Land of the Holy Ghost…” In the 1930s Smith Wigglesworth prophesied over Australia and New Zealand that these two nations would see the last great move of the Holy Spirit on earth, a move that would eclipse anything seen before.

Sound awesome? Absolutely! But what does it take to bring God’s prophetic word into existence? It’s simple, we must take a hold of God’s promise in prayer, believe what God has said, then obey His word… no matter what we see with our natural eyes.

The question is never about whether or not God’s word will come to pass… the ONLY question is… Will you be a part of it?

The truth is… all nations have callings, appointed times in history and boundaries for their lands set by God. So if you are thinking, “Maybe I should pray for my nation” please do!

Challenge yourself to pray, believe and obey God for the words He has spoken over your life, your family and your nation… it’s time for action!

Promise Keepers…

Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” [NKJV]

This verse is a fundamental truth of the Bible. If this happened to be the only verse that we had concerning God it would be more than enough for you and I to prosper and succeed in every arena of life. It encapsulates the character and nature of our creator.

Our God is stable in everything. He does not lie. He never does anything that needs Him to repent. He does exactly what He says He will do and if He makes a promise, He keeps it. This is such a contrast from how mankind has turned out. Now days it proves very difficult to know who is telling the truth and who is not, who will do what they say and who will fulfill their promises? Life at times can be a minefield to navigate because of how dubious humanity can be.

God is a Rock, a firm foundation for us to build our lives upon. Man can lie and repent but not our God. If God says something He will always do it. When He speaks something He will always make it good. Our strength and trust in God comes from this verse. We must not look to man for answers but ALWAYS set our gaze, heart and desire on God – He will never fail us.

This week take the promises that God has spoken personally to you. Write them on a piece of paper if you like. Then speak and proclaim Numbers 23:19 over them declaring Gods character and nature over them in Jesus name.

A Strange Happenings…

Isaiah 28:21 “…He may do His work, His strange work, and bring to pass His act, His strange act.”[AMP]

You can never put God in a box in any way, shape or form. Our verse tells us that God has a “work” and a “strange work”; He can bring to pass His “act” and His “strange act”. When we look back through the bible and often in our own lives, it seems that the “strange act” and the “strange work” are the ones that have produced the key changes and the biggest fruit in our lives. For example we all know that God wants to prosper us – this is a “work” from God. But when it actually happens in our life it seems like a “strange work” because it happened in a way we could never have imagined.

Some of the circumstances that you may be going through at the moment could be part of a “strange work” of God in your life. God can be planning to bring forth a “strange act” in your future if you yield your will to Him. This week get prepared for a “strange work” and a “strange act” in your life. They are a very powerful, life changing events and are absolutely beyond what you could ever ask, think or imagine.

Who would ever want to opt for a conventional life outside of Christ? No Way!!!

This week do all you can to fulfill the natural parts of your life and let God put His “Super” on your “natural” and bring forth His supernatural results. Arrange your life to receive the strange (unique) act or work of God in your circumstances. Know that change is coming!!!

Getting Promoted…

Daniel 3:30 “Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, in the province of Babylon” [NKJV]

This is a great ending to a very powerful bible illustration. As we know King Nebuchadnezzar had placed Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego into a fiery furnace as punishment. They met Jesus in that fire and came out unscathed and with a mighty testimony! They went through an integrity test, then a belief test and finally through the test of fire. When they came out of that furnace even the smell of the fire did not linger on them. They had received their promotion!

What a voyage to promotion this was for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. Sometimes in life the promotion process can appear to be a seemingly endless and unfruitful time. A time when everything can appear to be the opposite of what we expect. There can be lies told about us, everything we believe in gets shaken and then to top it off we are thrown into a fiery furnace. “This can’t be promotion,” we often think. Then out of the flames, the fumes and the fire we see Jesus. He walks with us, bringing us to victory. Our promotion is here!!!

Each of us will go through the process of promotion in different seasons of life. As Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego came forth without the smell of the fire on them so too when we are rescued to our promotion the smell of adversity will not remain on us either. When we come out of the fiery test with Jesus the smell of the fire will not taint our promotion or our future.

This week Jesus is with you champion. Just as God rescued these three boys and then they were promoted, God is with you and you too will receive your promotion. Remember – there will be no sign lingering from the tests you went through to receive promotion... Just evidence that Jesus is with you!
