The Blessing Edge…

Psalm 112:1-2 “Hallelujah! BLESSED man, BLESSED woman, who fear God, Who cherish and relish his commandments, their children robust on the earth, And the homes of the upright—how BLESSED! ” [MSG]

Say yes to blessing! Our verse today says that you are BLESSED!

Firstly, you are BLESSED, as you fear God. The word fear means to reverently worship. So as you reverently worship God you become BLESSED. What an opportunity!

Secondly, you are BLESSED as you take pleasure in, relish and delight in God’s way of doing things. You and everyone you know can become a BLESSED man or a BLESSED Woman… right here on earth as you apply God’s Word to your life.

Last of all… when you are BLESSED, your children will be healthy, vigorous, hearty and strong on earth. This magnificent promise is for your family. God promises that the home of the upright is abundantly BLESSED beyond what you could ask for or even think. WOW!

This week make sure you reverentially worship God, do things His way and cherish his commandments, and it will release you to be BLESSED.

1 Thessalonians 5:11 “So speak encouraging WORDS to one another. Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you’re already doing this; just keep on doing it.” [MSG]

Do you have memories from school as teams where selected for sporting events? The greatest fear would be that you were left out, the last one to be picked or not selected to participate at all. God wants to change all that! His WORD says that no one is to be left out and no one is left behind. We are all to move constantly forward together.

Here’s how it works, by you and I consistently speaking encouraging WORDS and building hope in each other we will move forward together. We are told to not grow weary in our well doing. WORDS cost us absolutely nothing but can change a person’s life forever and produce eternally impacting results. Proverbs tells us that life and death are in the power of the tongue, so God wants us to tame our tongues and enable other people to grow and be encouraged by our WORDS.

Zeal and enthusiasm are contagious… they fill people with hope! Get started today, use your WORDS to build up and include others… then just keep on doing it.

1 Corinthians 3:11 “For no one can lay any FOUNDATION other than the one already laid, which is JESUS Christ.” [NIV]

Every building has FOUNDATIONS designed to carry specific loads. There is only one sure FOUNDATION that can carry the load of you and your family… Jesus is this FOUNDATION. He can support everything… you, your calling and your destiny.

He will take the maximum load that you can put on Him at any time. No matter what burden, no matter what sorrow, no matter what fear… He can carry it for you.

The truth is there is only one FOUNDATION suitable for us to build upon. It is a FOUNDATION that will not crack and will never crumble. This FOUNDATION is JESUS Christ. JESUS is a FOUNDATION that we don’t have to wait to be laid; it is completely ready to build upon right now. Don’t ever build on other FOUNDATIONS like people, jobs or financial security because they will not hold us securely and faithfully… only Jesus can do this for us.

No risk now, no risk later… JESUS is more than able to carry the load and burdens of your life. Take any weights from your life and lay them upon the FOUNDATION that is JESUS Christ. He will carry them for you – it’s what JESUS does!!!

Do Something Extraordinary…

Acts 7:3 “…Get out of your country and from your relatives, and come to a land that I will show you.” [NKJV]

Did you know that this verse was a conversation that happened between God and Abraham? Abraham was instructed by God, to WALK BY FAITH, leave behind everything that was familiar and comfortable to him as well as everything he understood at that time.

God told Abraham he needed to get out of his country and away from his current associations! Every weight that could possibly hold Abraham back – needed to be gone. God told Abraham to leave only two things but until he did this he could not move forward into his promise. As Abraham OBEYED he became free to receive what God had for him in his future.

The truth is that it is exactly the same in our faith walk today. Often everything we rely on, everything we find familiar and comfortable, must be surrendered before we can ENTER the personal promise of God for our lives.

This is where faith fits in… we must rely wholly on Him and not on our familiar and comfortable habits, people and places. Whatever we have to leave will ultimately become insignificant in comparison to what God supplies to us in our future.

IT’S TIME TO MAKE A CHOICE! Simply ask God right now to show you if there are things He wants you to surrender so you can enter into His promise… its worth it!
