2014…

Psalm 19:14 “These are the words in my mouth; these are what I meditate on and pray. Accept them when I place them on the morning altar, O God, my Altar-Rock”

The New Year is almost upon us and 2014 can be filled with either success & failure. The bible shows us that the difference between the two often comes down to the words we speak. This is because what we say is what we’ll meditate or think on and they’ll become our pray. That’s why we should always try to ensure our words are God’s Word.

Today’s verse explains that the words we speak and what we mediate upon are powerful indicators of where we’ll be in our future. If we talk endlessly about sickness, disease and poverty then that’s where we’ll end up. If we speak God’s Word instead we’ll dwell in a land of goodness & blessing.

Changing the words we speak can be difficult but never as difficult as living in the results of speaking wrong words. It’s easy to turn our lives around by changing what we say one word at a time. In a short while our lives will be gathering momentum with success and we’ll be so glad we made the effort.

The words we speak now will help form the year ahead, so let’s make sure we enter 2014 saying what God says about it.  Let’s speak words of hope, future and His plan for our lives. As we meditate on these, they’ll become our pray and form a fabulous year ahead. Get ready you can make it one of the best ever.

The Wise Men saw His star…

The bible shows us that Wise Men were in the area when Jesus was born. They saw the star that showed His birth. They had a very unique role to play and a Godly strength that we can learn from.

Matthew 2:10 “The star led them on until it hovered over the place of the child. They could hardly contain themselves: They were in the right place! They had arrived at the right time!”

The Wise Men were excited to worship!

The wise men were obedient. God was leading then and they knew that they were heading towards something big. Their journey was not easy but they kept moving forward until they got to their destination. They found themselves in the right place at exactly the right time!

They were so excited they could hardly contain themselves. Their journey had been worth it. The promise they had followed had not disappointed them in the least – it was all it said it would be. As soon as they saw Jesus, the promise, they bowed down and worshipped him bringing their precious gifts to Him.

What do you see today that would cause you to worship Jesus?

This Christmas season let’s make some time to get excited and worship the greatest promise in history: Jesus! He is with us right now and like these wise men we are at the right place at exactly the right time so it’s time to get excited and worship him extravagantly, you’ll be so glad you did!

Simeon saw His star…

The bible shows us that Simeon was in the area when Jesus was born. He could have seen the star that showed the birth. He had a very unique role to play and a Godly strength that we can learn from.

Luke 2:25 “In Jerusalem at the time, there was a man, Simeon by name, a good man, a man who lived in the prayerful expectancy of help for Israel. And the Holy Spirit was on him”

Simeon was a man of prayer!

Simeon is a powerful character from the bible. We’re told that he is a good man, a prayerful man and because of this the Holy Spirit was on him. At this time Simeon knew that God was up to something and he was prayerfully expectant. In other words the Holy Spirit was drawing him into prayer knowing that the messiah was about to be born.

When we do things God’s way, like a good man does, and pray in obedience the Holy Spirit draws in close to us. Doing this is a simple way to get the presence of God all over our lives. In addition to this we’ll become involved in prayer that will change the world. Now who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?

Do you want more of the Holy Spirit in your life?

Simply follow the example of Simeon and it’ll happen. During this Christmas season determine in your heart to live a good life, one that is in line with what the bible teaches. Start praying with expectancy towards the promises of God and before long the Holy Spirit will be on you and you’ll be so glad you did!

Angels saw His star…

The bible shows us that angels were in the area when Jesus was born. They could have seen the star that showed His birth. They had a very unique role to play and a Godly strength that we can learn from.

Luke 2:10 “The angel said, “Don’t be afraid. I’m here to announce a great and joyful event that is meant for everybody, worldwide”

Angels said to go tell the world!

Have you ever shared news with someone not knowing what their reaction might be? They may be happy, angry or uncaring, you just don’t know. Our angels were sharing some world changing news but firstly they had to deal with fear and then deliver the good news of Jesus. The key was that they didn’t let fear hold them back.

The news of the birth of our savior was intended for everybody across the entire world. It wasn’t meant stay in Bethlehem. It was to be echoed throughout the earth to everyone. It was the news that mankind had been waiting to hear.

When people receive good news they’re often busting to tell others. Good news is almost uncontainable. As we discovered last week the shepherds who received this news told everyone they met. They didn’t allow fear to bind them and stop them from telling the world.

What part of the Gospel of the Good News of Jesus have you received that you want to tell the whole world about?

This Christmas season don’t let fear stop you from sharing the good news of Jesus. There are generations of people who have been waiting to hear it. Why not be the one who shares this with great joy to everyone you meet. It will change their lives and you’ll be so glad you did!

Shepherds saw His star…

The bible shows us that shepherds were in the area when Jesus was born. They may have seen the star that showed His birth. They had a very unique role to play and a Godly strength that we can learn from.

Luke 2:17 “Seeing was believing. They told everyone they met what the angels had said about this child.”

The shepherds saw & believed!

Many people are just like these shepherds, they have to see to believe. The drawback is that many people who see and believe never tell anyone about it. The shepherds were different. When they saw, they believed and then they told everyone they met. The following verse says that all who heard them were impressed.

We have the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We can read it in the bible and believe every promise contained therein. But the true power is released when we start telling others about it. Don’t try to impress people with your clothes, hair and car, rather tell them the truth about Jesus and they will be impressed.

So, what have you seen and believed that would cause you to tell everyone about Jesus?

Christmas is a great season to tell other people about the good news and what it means for them. This year why not spread the gospel by striking up a conversation with someone and sharing its life-changing truths. C’mon give it a go – you’ll be so glad you did!
