“Your work will be rewarded” Jeremiah 31:16

Have you ever been waiting for a parcel, package or special delivery to arrive? We know it’s been sent, we know it’s due for delivery but it’s not with us yet. We wait expectantly for the delivery person to arrive so we can receive what we need. Waiting can seems like an eternity but eventually the delivery arrives & we have it.

Today’s verse lets us know about a special delivery that’s coming to us. We’re told that our work will be rewarded. All our labor, toil, actions & faithfulness will produce a result and we’ll be rewarded for it. Hopefully our work is faithfully directed in goodness towards God, His church and people. If not then our reward may fall short of our expectations and we’ll be disappointed. If directed correctly our work will produce the intended result and we’ll be full of happiness, joy & hope.

What is the key to surviving the wait? The answer is held in the earlier part of this verse. It says not to weep & cry while we wait. In other words we are to stay in faith, keep our words, conversations and hearts right. We are to be sure that our reward has been dispatched, it’s on its way and it is going to arrive.

This week let’s ensure that the reward we’re receiving from our work will be worth getting. Don’t work and labor against God and his Word rather work with goodness towards God, His church and people and the reward will be great and well worth receiving. Remembering always that God is a rewarder of those that diligently seek him. [Hebrews 11:6]

This Belongs to You…

For everything belongs to YOU” 1 Corinthians 3:21 & 22

Have you ever heard kids squabbling over a belonging? “It’s mine!” they each argue. They continue fighting and reasoning until one wins and the others relinquish the treasure. The victor leaves, valiantly holding the prize, with a great feeling of pleasure & accomplishment.

In today’s verse the Apostle Paul tells us that everything is ours. In the following verse he says that the world, life & death, the present & the future are already our belongings. This means we don’t have to quarrel and fight with the enemy or other people for them. They already belong to us!

When we belong to Christ our past and our yesterday has gone. They don’t belong to us anymore. So why try to hold onto them? It’s better to release them to God and then get a good hold of what does belong to us: the present & the future. God’s imminent plan is to prosper us and give us future and hope [Jeremiah29:11].

This week let’s start creating a great future rather than holding onto a difficult and destructive past. When the enemy tries to bring up our past up let’s tell him about our future and exactly what God’s doing. We’ll hold the future like a treasured prize displaying it valiantly with a look of pleasure & accomplishment. Both the present and the future are ours so let’s not squander them; let’s make them flourish!

Time to Tend…

“Tend an orchard and you’ll have fruit to eat” Proverbs 27:18

Does the neighbor’s garden always look greener and lusher than yours? They’re probably spending more time, energy & resources tending it and achieving a superior result. There’s no use complaining about how great their garden looks. Yours would have the same result if you tended it with the same fervor & love as they do.

Today’s verse shows us a very important promise from God’s Word. We’re told that whatever we tend, watch over, guard & nurture will produce fruit. The fruit produced is intended for the person or people who nurtured it. They each benefit from their nurture. It would be wrong to never tend & nurture something but still expect to eat what it produces. [Deuteronomy 32:4]

The Church you go to is an orchard of God [Psalm 92:12-15]. As we tend, watch over, guard & nurture this place we receive from the bountiful fruits produced there. Anyone who only turns up occasionally and never gets involved shouldn’t expect to partake of God’s great riches in that place. Any believer who plants, cares and tends in their Church will always have a bounty of produce available for their lives.

This week lets do something to cause our Church to flourish. Discover an area that’s needs nurture then use some of your time, energy & resource to tend it. Before long it’ll be producing fruit. The more fruit it produces the more attention it will gain from the onlookers. When they want to produce the same fruit you’ll be able to show them how. It’s time for the Church of God to Flourish!

Church is Real…

I was overjoyed when they said: “Let’s go up to the house of the Lord” Psalm 122:1

Some people right now are living a life that’s full of hopelessness. Others are living a life that seems empty, unfulfilled and lacking joy. Many are living their lives with a continual dream that one day they’ll be able to lift their head out of their brokenness and see their future full of love, hope and destiny. Their dreams can come true and you can be the key to making it happen.

Today’s verse lets us know how people actually feel when we invite them to join us at God’s House – the Church. We’re told they’ll be overjoyed. When we bring them they’ll receive an infusion of joy and happiness that’ll create a vibrant memory that’ll stay with them through their future. All we have to do is ask them to come to Church with us and then God does the rest.

To the hopeless and broken the Church is a shining beacon. When we walk in with them they’ll become overjoyed by God’s grace, goodness and forgiveness. Their lives will be eternally changed. You and I can be the link to their long awaited answer. We’re the ones who can connect them to the place that hold their future and where they can get relief. If we never ask them to come to God’s House with us, they’ll stay exactly how they are hopeless, miserable and broken.

This week lets help someone break out if their cycles of misery by inviting them to Church with us. Let’s not just invite them, lets actually take them with us, walk them in, sit with then & introduce them around. God’s Word says they’ll be overjoyed even if they’re not showing it. Psalm 30:11-12 says God will turn their mourning into dancing and their silence into praise. God Word is true, His Church is real and lives are being changed through it every day.
