Waiting….

“The LORD is good to those who wait for Him,
To those who seek Him.”
Lamentations 3:25

Oftentimes in life we spend endless hours of our days waiting. It may be patiently waiting on the phone for help. It may be lined up at the bank or supermarket. It can be when we’re stopped at every traffic light, just wanting to get home. We spend a lot of time waiting for others but then expect God to produce everything instantly.

Today’s verse gives us two powerful keys to receiving from God. Firstly we should passionately wait for Him and secondly we should diligently seek Him. The Lord says that as we wait & seek, He’ll produce good in our future. If we’re impatient, lacking focus & are short tempered we’ll ultimately miss out on the good that He’s planned ahead.

It’s impossible for us to make anyone answer a phone, speed up a line or change the traffic lights. Similarly, our impatience doesn’t change God’s timings. We mustn’t selfishly run ahead of what He’s doing thinking its OK, it’s not. We must learn to wait, stay expectant & be full of hope for the future that He’s planned for us. [Jeremiah 29:11]

This week let’s relax into God’s Will for our future. Let’s not get impatient. Lets not become frustrated & short tempered. Lets passionately wait for Him instead. Lets diligently seek Him & His future for our life. We must be careful not to allow the pressure of urgency to steal our focus. We should stop; take a few deep breaths and wait, seeking Him. Circumstances will begin to turn as we see His goodness poured out on our lives.

Stick With Him….

“I’m sticking with God (I say it over and over). He’s all I’ve got left.”
Lamentations 3:24

Have you ever mailed a letter only to have it returned because the stamp fell off? You clearly remember addressing it, affixing the stamp and mailing it. Somewhere in the extensive delivery process the stamp became detached. The carrier refused to deliver the letter & it was returned. If the stamp had remained stuck everything would’ve been good. But separation caused the delivery to become unstuck not just the stamp.

Today’s verse let’s us know about sticking to God. The prophet Jeremiah can’t emphasize enough how important this is. He says it over & over so that we’ll get it. Jeremiah had discovered that he couldn’t stick to anything else in life that would deliver besides God. If he became separated nothing in his life would work. When Jeremiah remained attached & immovable to God everything arrived just as planned.

Why live life unstuck from God. When we are separated things don’t go well. We keep being returned to life’s starting point just like our returned letter. We keep doing the same cycle over & over again because we’re unstuck. This doesn’t only affect us it also affects everyone around us. It affects our family, friends & our relationships. But when we stick with God through everything, life goes so much better.

This week let’s get sticky with God. Let’s make God our only option in every situation. Let’s stay stuck to Him no matter how difficult it gets. Let’s stay stuck even when things desperately try to separate us. Let’s ensure we can be fully delivered into our future stuck to our God. He will never fail or forsake us [Deuteronomy 31:8]. He is with us, will keep us & will deliver us to our land of promise [Genesis 28:15]

A New Morning….

“They’re created new every morning. How great is His faithfulness!”
Lamentations 3:23

Mornings are the most magnificent part of the day. As darkness is dispelled by light a whole new day is opened up before us. A new day that is filled with new possibilities. A new day that is overflowing with His plan, future & purpose. Our yesterday has passed away and we must discover a whole new day before tomorrow arrives. Each morning delivers something new that if not ignored can be explored.

Today’s verse lets us know the power of a new morning. The power of the new dawn. Every morning God faithfully creates a day filled with His love & never-ending mercies. This means that everything about yesterday is gone. Everything about yesterday is finished. We have a new day and it’s choc-a-block filled with God. If God is for us, who can ever be against us [Romans 8:31]. It’s going to be the greatest day!

Many people focus on the darkness of their yesterday rather than on the brilliance of today. What love and mercy we didn’t discover yesterday can be found in the dawning of a whole new day. God faithfully fills every new day with both His love & mercy so we can discover & explore all the possibilities that the day contains.

This week lets wake up to a new morning every day. Let’s not revert to looking at the darkness of our past rather than the brilliance of a glorious new day. Whatever we failed to discover yesterday will be faithfully contained in our new day. So, why not go ahead and explore, discover & receive everything God has for you today. Then rest & get ready for a whole new day as the dawn breaks tomorrow.

Never Ending….

“The faithful love of the LORD never ends!
His mercies never cease”
Lamentations 3:22

It can be difficult for us to grasp eternity. It is something that has no beginning and doesn’t end. It is infinite, forever & has absolutely no limits. Every physical thing that surrounds our earthly life is finite, limited and will end. When our finite life is impacted by God’s infinite ways something has to change. God never changes [Malachi 3:6] so that leaves the adjustment up to us.

Today’s verse lets us know that God’s love & His mercies are infinite. They are forever & they have absolutely no limits. They existed long before we ever did and their impact will reverberate throughout eternity long after we leave this earth. Often times we struggle with receiving love & mercy from God. This is because we are looking at it wrong. We are looking at it from a finite position rather than an eternal.

We need to remind ourselves continually that God’s love towards us is unlimited. We must remember that His mercy will never be wiped out. If we don’t see these in God, we’ll never receive them. Life will seem loveless & harsh. But if we’re willingly to open up & receive these eternal elements daily, we’ll receive exactly what God is pouring into our lives.

This week lets get an eternal & never ending revelation of God. Let’s not accept a loveless & harsh view of Him from anyone. Instead let’s open up & receive what God has already released into eternity. Receive God’s unending love. Receive God’s never ceasing mercy. With these in our lives we’ll conquered & overcome any difficulties that would try to limit our lives.

HE IS…

“I AM THAT I AM” Exodus 3:14

Sometimes people make claims and promises that they’re unable or unwilling to live up to. Some folk make offers that seem too good to be true which usually fail. Others, out of the goodness of their hearts, try to please but are unable to always follow through. These are a few of the reasons why Psalm 118:8 says it’s better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man.

Today’s verse lets us know why it is better to have the Lord as our shelter. God explains to Moses that He is the answer to every problem that exists. Whenever we say, “I need” God replies, “I AM the answer”. If it’s outside of our ability then God promises to undertake when we ask Him. Whether we’re looking at a mountain before us, or a valley underneath us, God will produce the bridge that’ll get us to our future.

Some days look impossible to gain victory over. Whenever we realize that we’re unable, we must remember that God is able & we should find refuge in Him. When we’re in Him He becomes the solution, answer & supply that we need. Our impossible victories become possible as He undertakes with us.

This week let’s find OUR REFUGE IN HIM. Even if we’re looking at seemingly impossible circumstances or situations, let’s give it to the great I AM. Lets allow Him to answer those things that we are incapable of. Let’s allow His strength to conquer & His Word to be victorious over every area of our lives. Let’s give it to the Lord & let Him do what He does best.
