Be Bold…

“Do not fear, do not panic.
March out boldly tomorrow – God is with you”
2 Chronicles 20:17

Have you ever typed a paper and used some bold type to make an idea stand out? Bold type makes something ordinary become stronger and a little bigger. When used correctly it emphasizes & attracts attention from the reader. Without it, a valuable part of the text my not be seen, noticed or be as effective as it should.

Today’s verse reminds us how we should live our lives now that God is with us. We’re reminded not to live in fear. Fear is when we’re continually looking for danger, pain & harm. Neither should we live in a state of panic. Panic is simply fear growing wild in our lives. Instead, we’re instructed to be BOLD. We’re meant to start every day with Godly boldness.

Whenever we commence our day a little stronger and a little bolder than the day before, fear & panic becomes a little weaker. Fear & panic begins to shrink, fade and be erased from our day-to-day life. When we’re a little stronger and a little bolder we emphasize & attract attention that’ll cause us to move forward into a fabulous future. [Ephesians 3:20]

This week, let’s become a little stronger and bolder. Let’s remind ourselves that God is always with us. Then start tomorrow by marching into the day boldly. If fear or panic rise up let’s speak to it by saying: “I do not fear, I do not panic, God is with me” As we become bolder, fear & panic become weaker. Every day that we’re bold in our God is a day closer to receiving the prize [Philippians 3:14].

Gladiators…

“Put on all of God’s armour so that you will be able to stand firm…”
Ephesians 6:11

We’ve all seen them in the movies, seemingly invincible people who always win. They’re clad in armor, rippling with muscles having seemingly unending strength. No matter what’s thrown against them they rise, conquer & are victorious. They are the Gladiators of Hollywood fame.

Today’s verse talks about God’s Gladiators. The word gladiator simply means “man of the sword”. Every believer should be a man or woman of God’s sword. In other words we should be skilled in the use of God’s Word, which is the Sword of the Spirit. As skilled as one can be, we must continually remember to stay dressed in God’s armor. If we don’t, we’ll fall in the battle rather than standing firm.

A gladiator’s victory is available to us when we’re decked out in God’s armor. Having the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, shoes of peace, holding up faith’s shield. WE must be covered by salvation’s helmet as we brandish God’s word; His sword, praying in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion.

This week let’s become gladiators of God. Let’s be people of His Word. Let’s get our gear on by ensuring every part of our armor is in place. Then we’re equipped for the battle. We can move forward in life knowing we can win. If we never take our armor off we’ll always be ready to rise, conquer & have victory.

Press Back…

I press on toward…
Philippians 3:14

Have you ever walked against the wind? As we press into the wind it resists us. It presses back on us. The harder we push, the greater it seems to press back against us. If we turn around and go with the wind it simply returns us to where we’ve already been. It may be easier to go with the wind but it won’t allow us to arrive at our destination. It won’t allow us to reach the place where we really need to be.

In today’s verse Paul talks about the necessity of pressing on, even when resistance is met. Anytime we do something in God that’ll build our future, the enemy automatically presses back. It’s just like walking against the wind. The more we press in the harder he presses back. He presses back against the prophetic words we’ve received. He presses back against the revelation, favor or promise we’ve decided to walk in. Anything we do in God causes the enemy to inevitably press back against it.

So why not be prepared? Why not expect the enemies press back whenever we push forward into our future in God. Let’s not allow it to surprise us again. Let’s not allow ourselves to be turned around & returned to our miserable pasts. Let’s press on & press in to the future of promise, hope & favor that God’s setup for us. When we don’t give up, give in or turn around, we inevitably enter the fullness of what God has prepared for us.

This week let’s make a decision to stand firm. Our future is so valuable that the enemy will try everything he can to gain control over it. So let’s put a stop to it by submitting to God & resisting the enemy [James 4:7]. The devil’s press back should cause us to press up into the higher things of God. The devil’s press back should cause us to reach greater heights than we ever thought possible. Don’t be pushed around… Stand firm instead!!!
