This week includes Valentines Day. Couples around the world will celebrate their love for each other. Each person will express his or her love in a different way. Some will be extravagant with cards, roses, chocolates and dinner. Others may be more conservative with just the simple words “I love you”.
Today’s verse reminds us that God is all about LOVE. God’s love is so much greater than our love! It’s a special type of love called “agape” love. It is an extravagant, selfless, sacrificial, unconditional love that God expresses towards us continually. No matter who we are or what we have done, God wants us to know & believe that He loves us this way. God is full and overflowing with agape love for YOU right now.
What is even more amazing is this: as we immerse ourselves, soaking & bathing in God’s extravagant agape love, we discover that we are actually abiding, that is, living in Him. As God’s love lives in us it oozes through every fiber of our being reaching out to our family, friends and the world.
This week let’s know & believe that we live in God’s agape love. Let’s immerse ourselves in it. Let’s allow it to flow from us and touch those around us. As we do we’ll soon discover His extravagant love starts to live in others. Soon His love will be all around us.
