Modern life has developed highways that make driving between cities much faster. They make the experience more pleasurable and are more efficient than the old low roads that surround them. These were built for slow moving horses and carts.
Today’s verse reminds us which road we’re to take in life. Life will continually offer opportunities to take the low road of being timid, fearful and discouraged. God wants us to know that there is a super highway available to us as well. It is a highway of strength and courage. A highway that will deliver us to our destination faster, more efficiently and right on time!
We must learn to fight fear, discouragement and weakness when they attack. They are trying to get us on the low roads of life. God told Joshua multiple times to be strong and courageous as he faced fear, weakness and discouragement. He is the same God now! He wants us strong and courageous not fearful, discouraged & weak. He wants us on the highway not the low roads.
Today let’s BE STRONG AND OF GOOD COURAGE. The future God’s planned for us is full of promise and beauty. Let’s choose to walk the highway of strength and courage that He’s provided rather than the slow road of fear & discouragement. Remember that God is on the road with us every step of the way so let’s get up & get on with God as we speed along the highways of life.
