Still Breathing…

Psalm 150:6 “Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! Hallelujah!”

After a long run or following some strenuous exercise we can often feel short of breath. We suddenly become aware just how vital breathing is. After a quick rest we are soon back to normal ready to continue our daily routines. Breathing is vitally essential to life and health in the natural.

Today’s scripture, the concluding verse in the book of psalms, reminds us that breath has another very important function. While we have it we are to praise The Lord. So, if we ever question whether it’s the right time to praise the Lord or not we can just check to see if we’re breathing. If we are, then it’s the perfect time to praise Him.

An adult takes between 12 & 20 breathes a minute. That’s 12 to 20 reminders every minute to praise The Lord. When we think of it that way we have little excuse to forget this important part of life. Praise is our God appointed calling and is vital for a vibrant and successful spiritual life.

This week let’s give God the recognition He deserves by taking our praise to its highest level. Let’s use our breathing to remind us to set time aside time to sing, speak and demonstrate our praises to Him. As we exalt God beyond everything else we step into the realm of high praise. This sacrifice allows us to build a strong relationship with God the father and causes peace to invade our lives like never before.
