Hope…

“When everything was hopeless, Abraham believed anyway, deciding to live not on the basis of what he saw he couldn’t do but on what God said he would do”
Romans 4:18

Have you ever had a situation that looked impossible? No matter what angle you look at it from there doesn’t seem to be a good solution. It doesn’t matter if it’s a big or small problem, you know that you can’t advance until it’s been dealt with. These situations often seem hopeless.

In today’s verse Abraham was in a situation just like this. Everything around him seemed hopeless but he did something that you and I can do. He believed the promise of God, despite the hopelessness. He was confidently expectant that God would undertake in the areas that he was unable to.

Abraham’s focus was solely on what God said he would do. He did not gaze at what he couldn’t achieve rather he looked to the promise of God and steadfastly focused his faith on that. This caused Abraham to apprehend the promise that God had given him. When we focus our faith in the same way, we’ll get the same result.

This week let’s turn things around in our lives. Let’s focus on the promises that God has given us and not the hopelessness of the situation. The reality is unless God gets involved nothing changes anyway. As we do this, just like Abraham, the promise will be delivered and our lives will return to their right cause again.
