Above and Before…

Proverbs 4:7 “Above all and before all, do this: Get Wisdom!”

The journey of life can become busy and overwhelming at times. People rush everywhere trying to do everything they possibly can. Often rapid-fire decisions are made with little forethought. These often prove to be big mistakes that carry a great cost.

In life we need to slow down! Our verse lets us know that God’s way to a successful life is to get His Wisdom above and before everything. This means that God’s Wisdom must come before our plans, desires and schedules and must be placed above our emotions, circumstances and feelings.

Whenever we disregard Wisdom we are heading towards disaster without knowing it.

We can never rush Wisdom; it takes time and energy to gain it. Our bible is chocked full of Wisdom for us to live by. It is there so we can successfully navigate every part of life. The key to getting Wisdom is to slow down and take our time to read, ponder and apply God’s Word to our lives before we do something, not after.

Whenever we prioritize God’s Word in our life we are prioritizing Wisdom in our lives.

This week put God’s Wisdom above and before our personal wisdom. Let’s SLOW DOWN and allow Wisdom to seep into the very depths of our hearts. Allow Wisdom to become the foundation of every decision made. Before long our lives will be flourishing and we will be a people of Wisdom.

Wisdom

A Strong Year…

Ecclesiastes 3:11 “God has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot understand what God has done from beginning to end.”

Soon fireworks will be bursting in the sky, trumpets will be blaring and everyone will be celebrating the new year. For many it will be just another event but, for those who choose, it can become a defining moment in their journey with God.

Our family always enter the new year on a strong foot. We make sure that God is central and pivotal at the start so he remains the focus for the whole year, not just the day. Ecclesiastes 3:11 will help make this coming year strong and stable for you.

It gives 3 powerful keys on how to enter this new season:

  1. Don’t rush
  2. Search your heart
  3. Trust God

Don’t rush – Everything we do doesn’t have to be accomplished in one day. Some things take time. If we allow time to do its work then God will ensure that everything becomes beautiful.

Search your heart – Remember that God has planted eternity in our hearts. It makes good sense that we should search our heart and get an eternal prospective on our plans. Make a habit of checking every plan with God and you will have great success ahead.

Trust God – Ensure that your trust is in God. He knows the beginning from the end and every step in-between. There is no one trustworthier than God. When we put our trust in Him our lives stand on a solid and sure foundation.

We believe that 2013 is going to be the best year yet for you. Making God the central and pivotal point at the start is a simple key to having a strong year!

A Life Direction…

Proverbs 11:3 “The integrity of the upright will guide them…”

On life’s journey we get to know people who are outstanding symbols of living a good life. Even when they are attacked from every side they stand strong and keep making great Godly decisions. People are attracted to there overcoming lifestyle and attempt to understand how they built this strength. The simple answer is always through integrity.

Today’s verse instructs us that integrity will be the guide of our life. If we don’t have it we will become lost and eventually destroyed. With it we become stable, sure and a guiding light to others. Remember that as we make the hard decisions in life, in line with God’s Word, we forge our integrity. As we stay true to His Word and stop compromising, our path ahead will become easier to navigate.

Integrity is the very thing that makes a person outstanding. It is also the thing that many people overlook. Integrity includes being honest and having strong moral principles but, to a Christian, it means so much more. We build Integrity by knowing and standing upon God’s Word regardless of the circumstances. We must always ensure that we do what we say making our word our bond in every situation.

This week why not find another Christian that you admire, come along side of them and allow the Holy Spirit to train you up to a higher level of integrity. Don’t be concerned if it seems a little hard at times. Make a decision now to stay the course and build your future on this essential trait. Before you know it you will be navigating life with ease and others will be drawn to your integrity.

It’s the Highway…

Joshua 1: 6 “Haven’t I commanded you? Strength! Courage! Don’t be timid; don’t get discouraged. God, your God, is with you every step you take.” [MSG]

I love driving between cities on modern highways. They are so much faster and more efficient than driving on old low roads that were built for a horse and cart.

During life’s journey we are continually offered opportunities to take the low road of being timid, fearful and discouraged. God wants us to know that there is a super highway available to us. It is a highway of strength and courage. A highway that will deliver us to our destination faster, efficiently and right on time!

Remember, like Joshua, we must learn to fight fear, discouragement and weakness when they attack us. God told Joshua many times over to be strong and courageous as he faced fear, weakness and discouragement. He is the same God now!

So today… “BE STRONG AND OF GOOD COURAGE.” The future that God has planned for you is full of promise and beauty.  Choose to walk along the highway of strength and courage that He has provided. God is on this road with you every step of the way – SO LET’S GO!

Where’s The Dream…

Matthew 2:9 “…Then the star appeared again, the same star they had seen in the eastern skies. It led them on until it hovered over the place of the child.” [MSG]

Have you ever been on a trip and suddenly realized that you are lost and don’t know where to go? The three wise men had been following their star but then it disappeared for a while! What did they do? They simply waited for its return before moving ahead.  It reappeared and successfully led them to their destination.

Often in life’s journey God places a dream in our hearts. In some seasons we are led with clear direction concerning our dream while in other seasons it seems we are not. During these times we must wait on God like the three wise men. When the dream direction re-appears we are to start moving ahead again according to God’s leading without any doubt that we are on our journey again.

This week spend time in God’s presence letting the Holy Spirit minister life back into the God dreams in your heart. The humble star that appeared to the three wise men knew exactly where to take them. Be confident that the Holy Spirit knows specifically what you are seeking from God and He will guide you safely to that destination.
