Let’s Walk…

Walk humbly in the company of your God
Micah 6:8

There’s nothing like a good walk with great friends. No one is in a rush as we stroll in the same direction, seeing the same things, and enjoying the shared experience. We listen, we talk & we learn from each other. The longer we walk, the more we get to know & the more we find in common.

Today’s verse lets us know how to walk with God. When we walk with Him our focus will go onto Him. When our focus is on him our thoughts are on Him. When our thoughts are on Him, they’re no longer on the troubles we have. When we’re no longer looking at our troubles, we’re able to listen & learn from Him. God pours out His wisdom and we receive His plan to move forward into our future.

As we stop walking with the world and start walking with God, we begin to know His heart & His ways like never before. We’re able to hear his voice speak clearly. We see things His way rather than ours. We start to act justly and to love mercy just like He does. The longer we walk together the more we’ll understand and the more amazing our future will become.

So, this week, let’s start a fresh daily walk with God. Let’s not treat it as a special event. Let’s make it a new habit instead. Let’s spend time each day setting our focus on Him and Him alone. Let’s allow our thoughts to walk with His thoughts through His Word. Let’s listen and learn as God leads us along life’s many paths. The longer we walk with Him, the more our thoughts will align with His and the great our future becomes filled with His promises.

About Your Future…

Many people find it difficult to discover exactly what God wants them to do in life. They’re constantly on the move looking for the next “big break” which they can fit themselves into. They continually feel lost & disorientated as they wander aimlessly through life. God does not want us to live this way!  

Today’s verse helps us easily discover God’s will for our lives. It gives us an easy principle that’s simple to apply. It involves the way we ACT, the way we LOVE and the way we WALK. These 3 simple things are what God ALWAYS requires of us. We are to ACT JUSTLY, LOVE MERCY & WALK HUMBLY.

These 3 things are never a “one time” event. God asks us to do them every moment, of every day through our entire life. They’re basically our obedience to His Word. We must stop trying to plan out every moment of our lives and start trusting God by walking humbly with Him.  Even when we don’t understand what’s happening God says we’re to ACT JUSTLY, LOVE MERCY & WALK HUMBLY.

This week let’s shake down our lives and get focused on what really matters. Let’s obediently apply these 3 simply keys to every area of our lives. Let’s ACT JUSTLY, LOVE MERCY & WALK HUMBLY.  As we decide to live our lives God’s way rather than our own He’ll open up our future, move worry & fear from us and ensure our tomorrow is so much better than our today. 

Confidence Builder…

“For every house is built by someone, but He who BUILT all things is God.”
Hebrews 3:4

A lot of what we see every day is built by people. All the buildings, cars, computers & furniture were manmade. Our family absolutely enjoys and is so thankful for the home that God has given us. It was BUILT very well. It was BUILT to last! But a person physically BUILT it.

Today’s verse reminds us that God was involved long before any man BUILT anything. God created the raw materials and the ideas for everything we can see. No human can create; we can only BUILD from what God has already supplied. God alone can create and BUILD eternally and that’s a claim only He can make!

When we need the raw materials to construct our future we must find them in God first. God will show us exactly what’s needed to BUILD a future that’s guaranteed to last! No matter what tomorrows needs, God has already prepared a supply for it. God has a plan for what tomorrow will look like & the process that’s needed to BUILD it.

This week let’s BUILD our future God’s way. Let’s use the raw materials He’s prepared for us. Let’s BUILD what He wants us to BUILD. Let’s BUILD it to last. Here are a few keys from the Bible that’ll help us to build well for our future…

  • Need finances… we are to be generous – Luke 6:38
  • Need help… we are to help others – Ephesians 6:8
  • Need wisdom… we are to ask God for it – James 1:5
  • Don’t know what to do… do justly, love mercy and walk humbly – Micah 6:8

Where to now Lord?

Micah 6:8 “…And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” [NIV]

Do you ever have difficulty discovering exactly what God wants you to do in life? Do you feel continually lost and disorientated? God doesn’t want us to live this way!  His will for our life can be discovered from today’s verse. It’s so easy and simple to apply.

There are only 3 simple things God ALWAYS requires of us:

  1. To Act justly
  2. To Love mercy
  3. To Walk humbly with Him

These 3 things are never just a “one time” event. God asks us to do them our entire life. He simply asks for our obedience to His Word and to love Him with all that is within us.

Its not our job to plan out every moment of our life – that’s God’s job! Our part is to trust God as we walk humbly with Him.  Even when we don’t understand God says to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with Him.

 Remember understanding never supersedes trust.

 Worry and fear cease when we apply these 3 simply keys. Decide today to act justly, love mercy and walk in humility with GOD. Let God take care of the rest and open up your future for you!
