The key to any good building is its foundation. The foundations hold & support the weight of everything that is built upon them. If they are faulty, the whole building may be unstable and won’t endure. But good foundations produce a good building and good foundations are what we need to succeed.
Today’s verse reminds us that we need good solid foundations to live a successful life. Jesus says that whenever we hear what He says and we do it, strong foundations are formed for our future. If we ignore His voice, or choose not to obey, we cause faults to form in the foundations of our lives.
But that’s not all. As we hear and do what God’s Word says, wisdom enters into our lives. Wisdom will then permeate our foundations increasing their strength. Everything we build upon these stronger foundations will stand and endure the storms & floods of life.
This week let’s strengthen our foundations. Let’s become hearers & doers of God’s Word in even greater measure. Our life’s foundations will become as solid as rock and everything we build will stand and endure. Life’s storms will not be able to destroy us and everything we do will be for the glory of God.
