God Is Faithful…

And God is faithful
1 Corinthians 10:13

Have you ever promised to do something for someone & then neglected to do it? This can be a frustrating experience both for you and for the person you promised. You had every good intention to complete it but it just didn’t happen. Some people will experience this scenario frequently while others won’t. Your experience will come down to your ability to be faithful to what you promised.

Today’s verse gives us a window into the character & nature of God. We’re told by the Apostle Paul that “God is faithful”. In addition to everything else Paul tells us about God he’s ensuring that we understand that God will never let us down. NEVER, EVER!!! For us to understand this, we must understand that God is not like us [Numbers 23:9, Hebrews 6:8, Isaiah 55:8)

We can’t judge God’s behaviour by how we’d act in similar circumstances (2 Timothy 2:13). If we’re feeling inadequate, He is our sufficiency. If we’re feeling trapped, He is our freedom. If we’re feeling sad, He is our joy. Even when we’re unfaithful, God is ALWAYS FAITHFUL. Everything God has promised He will complete (Philippians 1:6) because He is faithful.

This week let’s get ourselves out of God’s way so His faithfulness can enter into our lives. Let’s stop making excuses & apologies as to why God cannot do what’s needed in our lives. Let’s take the promises that God has given us in His Word, believe them and let the Faithful One work on us to produce them in our lives (1 Thessalonians 5:24).

God Calling…

“The One who called you is completely dependable. If he said it, he’ll do it!”
1 Thessalonians 5:24

As a child whenever our mum called, even in a crowded room, we recognized her voice and knew that we had to respond promptly. In a similar way, as we grow in God, we get to know His voice. When He calls, we must hear Him and respond quickly.

Today’s verse reminds us that when God calls He will show Himself to be completely dependable. What God says is what God is going to do! We must not allow our fears, inadequacies or past hurts to color the voice of God in our life. God is completely dependable and He is calling you.

Now, it is very easy to ignore God’s voice when He calls. Many disregard it by pretending not to hear it or just making so much other noise that they drown it out. Many people even constrain their strong desire to respond simply by never answering Him. We should not be slow moving in our response to God’s voice if we really want a God result in our lives.

This week let’s try to do better when God speaks to us. Let’s remember that God is completely dependable no matter what our life currently looks like. Remember that God’s personal promise to us is that He will produce exactly what He says. So, no matter what happens in your week, keep saying strongly “If God said it, God will do it!”

God Called You

1 Thessalonians 5:24 “The One who called you is completely dependable. If he said it, he’ll do it!” [MSG]

As a child whenever my mother called me, even in a crowded room, I recognized her voice and knew that I had to respond straightaway. In a similar way, as we grow in God, we get to know His voice. When He calls us, we hear and should respond.

Now, it is very easy to ignore God’s voice when He calls. We can disregard it, pretending not to hear Him. We can hold our strong desire to respond deep within us. But why do we do that? Why don’t we just respond?

Our verse clearly states that when He calls us He is completely dependable to complete what He said. “If he said it, he’ll do it!” We shouldn’t allow our fears, inadequacies and past hurts to colour the clear voice of God in our lives!

This week let’s all remember that God is completely dependable – no matter what happens. Know that He will produce exactly what He has spoken to you! It is His personal promise to us.

Why not make this your VICTORY CRY for the week… “If he said it, he’ll do it!”
