Doing it all…

Philippians 4:13 “For I can do ALL THINGS through Christ, who gives me strength”

Some days we think we’ve conquered the world only to discover that there’s still a long “to do” list left. It has taken every ounce of strength to get this far so the rest will have to wait for another time. Everyone experiences days like these.

Today’s verse reminds us how to achieve victory every day. You and I can do somethings & many things in our own strength but we can’t do ALL THINGS. If we want to achieve our full potential we need help. We must obtain it through Christ. He gives us the strength and ability to do ALL THINGS, even the seemingly impossible!

So, how do we access Christ’s strength to do ALL THINGS just like the Apostle Paul? It’s simple, we ensure that Jesus is the central focus of our life. We place Him above and before everything else. We honour Him first in every arena of life – private, public and personal. Jesus gets the best of our time, our resource and our relationships. We vigilantly keep every arena of our lives focused on Jesus.

As we do this the gates of blessing from heaven open and Christ’s strength floods our life. So, this week, re-arrange your life to honour Jesus even more. It takes many simple decisions throughout the day to achieve this and then the promise of Philippians 4:13 will overtake your life and joy will become your constant companion.

Overtaking Blessings…

Deuteronomy 28:2 “And all these blessings shall come on you, and overtake you, if you shall hearken unto the voice of The Lord your God.”

Have you ever been driving along a road and suddenly noticed a vehicle has sped right up behind you. In no time it overtakes and is in front of you. What you hadn’t noticed coming up behind is now clearly visible in front of you.

Now, the only way that something can overtake is if it’s travelling on the same road, in the same direction that we are. This verse shows that you and I are travelling on the very same road as God’s blessings whenever we listen to and obey His Word. When we stay on this road so does God’s blessing.

Now, there is an amazing promise from God delivered through this verse. It lets us know that the blessings God has prepared are not just travelling on the same road but they’re going to catch us and then overtake. This means that God’s blessings will move from being in a place that’s hard to see into a place where it will be impossible to miss them. They’ll move from the unseen into our future right in front of us.

God’s blessings are right on our tails. They’re waiting for the opportunity to overtake and get in front of us so we can see them. Why not allow them to by listening to and obeying God’s Word in every part of life. Before long we’ll have the Blessings that God promised clearly in our gaze, ready to be pursued for a happy future!

A Promise Given…

Ecclesiastes 5:4-5 “When you make a vow to God, don’t delay fulfilling it, because He does not delight in fools. Fulfill what you vow.”

Now, I’m sure you want God to delight in you… we sure do! Our verse tells us a simple way to make this happen. Whenever we make a promise to God we must fulfill it without delay. We must accomplish our part of the vow quickly.

Nowadays people are amazed when you do what you say? In our hectic society it is easy to make promises and never fulfill them. Our words are easily spoken but the route taken to fulfill them is sometimes difficult. Even in the Christian world people find it difficult to do what they promise. It can be a real challenge.

I know there are many things we promise God. We often promise to pray more, to financially help others, to serve and to help or even to plead ways of getting out of the tight spots in life. Remember, God knows every promise that we have made with him. The fact is not what we vowed but it is that we fulfill our part quickly.

This week, allow the Holy Spirit to remind you of the promises you made to God. He will give you a strategy, bathed in mercy and grace, to fulfill them quickly. Then the delight of the Lord will fall upon you. You will be able to walk in fresh favor before both God and man. So why not make this a week to remember!

God Called You

1 Thessalonians 5:24 “The One who called you is completely dependable. If he said it, he’ll do it!” [MSG]

As a child whenever my mother called me, even in a crowded room, I recognized her voice and knew that I had to respond straightaway. In a similar way, as we grow in God, we get to know His voice. When He calls us, we hear and should respond.

Now, it is very easy to ignore God’s voice when He calls. We can disregard it, pretending not to hear Him. We can hold our strong desire to respond deep within us. But why do we do that? Why don’t we just respond?

Our verse clearly states that when He calls us He is completely dependable to complete what He said. “If he said it, he’ll do it!” We shouldn’t allow our fears, inadequacies and past hurts to colour the clear voice of God in our lives!

This week let’s all remember that God is completely dependable – no matter what happens. Know that He will produce exactly what He has spoken to you! It is His personal promise to us.

Why not make this your VICTORY CRY for the week… “If he said it, he’ll do it!”

Where to now Lord?

Micah 6:8 “…And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” [NIV]

Do you ever have difficulty discovering exactly what God wants you to do in life? Do you feel continually lost and disorientated? God doesn’t want us to live this way!  His will for our life can be discovered from today’s verse. It’s so easy and simple to apply.

There are only 3 simple things God ALWAYS requires of us:

  1. To Act justly
  2. To Love mercy
  3. To Walk humbly with Him

These 3 things are never just a “one time” event. God asks us to do them our entire life. He simply asks for our obedience to His Word and to love Him with all that is within us.

Its not our job to plan out every moment of our life – that’s God’s job! Our part is to trust God as we walk humbly with Him.  Even when we don’t understand God says to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with Him.

 Remember understanding never supersedes trust.

Worry and fear cease when we apply these 3 simply keys. Decide today to act justly, love mercy and walk in humility with GOD. Let God take care of the rest and open up your future for you!

The Right Operation…

Job 5:8-9 “If I were you, I would go to God and present my case to him. He does great things too marvelous to understand. He performs countless miracles.” [NLT]

God has a “modus operandi” for everything in life. Often life gets overwhelming and we overlook the obvious by attempting to achieve results or find the answers without God. We create problems when we fail to do things God’s way.

The best way is always God’s way. When we go to Him and commit our cause then He can carry out His part.

Now here is the power of presenting our case to God. His part is doing “great things” that are “marvelous” and “without number” WOW – the miraculous! What a promise!

Go to God today and present your case. Stop your busy life for a moment and give God what he needs to bring forth great things that are marvelous countless miracles in your world!

He is for you today!

A Royal Occasion…

Psalm 121:5-8 “God’s your Guardian, right at your side to protect you… God guards you from every evil, he guards your very life. He guards you when you leave and when you return, he guards you now, he guards you always.” [MSG]

I remember watching the changing of the guards at Windsor Castle in England. What struck me the most was not the ceremonial pomp of the occasion but the fact that these guards were not actors. These guards were elite professionally trained military soldiers. They were armed and dangerous. Their role was first and foremost to watch over and keep the royal family safe.

Now think about the power of these verses. They tell us that God Himself is guarding and protecting us! God stands watch over our very life. God guards us from evil and He guards us right now.  He guards us as we leave and as we return. God is not ceremonial pomp! God’s guardian power is real and it is for us in every part of our lives.

Remember this week that no matter what you face God is with you so there is no reason to fear. He is constantly vigilant and will never leave His post.  God will watch over you and keep you safe. We are in His royal family.

Bon Voyage…

Matthew 11:28-29 “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest.” [MSG]

Do you feel you need a holiday right now? Have you felt like you will fall apart if you don’t get some rest but its just not possible? We have all been there! At these times of life it is vital to remember that there is a promise from God that will help us through. Even in the most stressful times of life this promise is for us.

Here’s how it works: Come to and get away alone with Jesus. Our verse teachs us that as we do this we will actually recover true life and take a real rest.

I know this sounds too good to be true but the reality is… it actually works! Just find a private place and talk to Jesus. Then before you know it He will be there with you. Jesus will recover your life and give you a real rest in His presence!

Bon Voyage my friend!

Three Gifts for You…

Isaiah 51:11 “Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.” [KJV]

I love a good song. There is nothing like singing out loud to our God. Even if it doesn’t sound perfect to us it is received into the very throne room of heaven as a sacrifice of praise.

This is where our verse fits in.  Because we have been redeemed by Jesus we should be singing God’s praises right into His throne room.  Even if we are in the middle of a trial, God wants us there singing.

As we do this we receive 3 magnificent gifts back from God:

  1. Everlasting Joy
  2. Gladness and Joy
  3. Sorrow and Mourning flee

The key to receiving these gifts is very simple. Just stand in your redemption. How you ask?  Let the redeemed of the Lord say so! Say it, sing it and declare it today!

So if you want everlasting joy, gladness, sorrow and mouring to flee… simply say out loud that you are redeemed of the Lord. These words will carry to heaven as a song of praise and you will receive God’s glorious gifts.

Activated Faith…

2 Corinthians 4:13 “And since we have the same spirit of FAITH, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke” we also believe and therefore speak.” (NKJV)

When we are shocked or surprised we become speechless.  Fact: God does not want us stuck with nothing to say! You see our words are designed to become extremely powerful when used in agreement with God’s Word.

Let’s take a closer look… this verse shows us that FAITH is simple.  FAITH is to believe AND SPEAK God’s word. When we do this God says we have the spirit of FAITH.

Here is how to active FAITH:
Hear the Word + Believe the word + Speak the word = Activated FAITH

As you can see to move in FAITH involves all of these ingredients working together. We believe therefore we speak it out aloud.  As we do this, FAITH is activated. The result? Things that were not become things that are. Before we know it we are seeing God’s promises fulfilled – How exciting!!!

Do it now… activate FAITH by hearing, believing and speaking God’s Word. Use activated FAITH on your most desperate situations. Watch how quickly they turn around and line up with God’s Word. It really works!!!
