All About Time…

They will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover
Mark 16:18

Have you ever been reorganizing your things and discovered a card with some money still in it? You vaguely remember receiving it & putting it away safely. Your discovery makes you very happy & the extra cash sure comes in handy.

Today’s verse shows us something that’s hidden which needs to be rediscovered. It’s part of the great commission, the very last thing Jesus instructed all believers to do. Jesus said to lay hands on the sick but very few believers actually do. When we do, we’re actually fulfilling the great commission and people will recover from their sicknesses.

One reason believers haven’t fulfilled this part of the great commission is they’re ignorant of it or have forgotten that Jesus said it. When we start treating this truth like the great treasure in a lost card, we’ll see sick people recovering. Laying hands on them is a rich treasure Jesus entrusted to us. But if we don’t start doing it now then people will be robbed of the healing God has for them.

This week let’s get bold. Let’s take Jesus’ final instruction and do exactly what He said. Find someone, anyone, who is sick and ask if you can pray for them. When they agree hold hands and pray. Allow God’s healing anointing to flow to them and commence its restoration. Mark 16:17 simply says that as we believe, miracles will happen, and people will be restored

An Essential Component…

And these signs will accompany those who believe
Mark 16:17

Have you ever been undertaking a task only to discover that a vital or essential component to its completion was missing? Without that piece it can never be finished. At best, without it, the result will be weak or deformed and won’t function correctly. This can prove to be very frustrating and often disheartening.

Today’s verse reminds us that God’s signs & wonders only follow those who believe and trust in His promises. Believing God’s Word individually is often the vital piece missing to obtaining His victory in our lives. People often want to trust in those who trust in the promises of God but that’s not the key to victory that the Bible teaches. We’re taught to individually believe & trust the promises of God and then we get God’s result.

Remember that God’s Word is chock-a-block full of powerful promises and 2 Corinthians 1:20 reminds us that every promise of God is yes & amen in Jesus. This means that you and I can have exactly what the Bible promises. The missing element to most people’s success is to individual believe, trust and have faith for themselves so that God’s Promise can occur.

This week let’s grab a hold of the promise of God that is most vital to our future. Let’s find Bible verses that support and encourage this promise. Then let’s start speaking them out, memorizing them, journaling and remembering them. As we believe them, we’ll start to see signs & wonders that we previously thought were impossible.

Good News…

Mark 16:15 And then Jesus told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone…”

Tomorrow evening fireworks will be exploding, parties will be happening and people will be rejoicing a very temporal event – the end of one year and the beginning of another. Some people like to celebrate the current year ending because it contained hard or difficult times and they’re full of hope for a better & brighter 2015.

In today’s verse the 11 disciples have gathered around Jesus and things are about to dramatically change in their world. Jesus is about to leave them and so He gives them His final instructions. He gives them directions for the new season that lies ahead. The first thing He tells them to do is to preach & proclaim the Good News to everyone.

Now, Jesus didn’t say to go about like we’re baptized in vinegar telling everyone the problems, the difficulties or the impossibilities. He said go out and tell everyone that we have the answer, the Good News of the Gospel of Peace. This Good news contains the power of God that’ll bring change into every dire & desolate situation. It has abundant power to change a bad past into a bright future and that power is only available through His Gospel.

On this New Years Eve let’s make solid plans to do what Jesus said in the great commission and share the Good News of His Gospel to all the world. Let’s share the simplicity of His Gospel with everyone we can – its simply good news not bad. By doing this we’ll activate Mark 16:17 in our lives and have signs and wonders trailing behind us.

Let’s make 2015 a year to be proud of our God and all He’s done and continues to do!
