Get Ready…

Matthew 18:4 “Whoever becomes like this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.”

A few days ago I was at the supermarket waiting in a checkout line. In front of me was a 4-year-old child having a conversation with his grandmother. He was excitedly telling her that he was four and in a few days he would be five. His excitement was uncontainable. He wanted everyone to know that he was approaching a great milestone and that we should all be as expectant as he was.

We must recognize that God really loves this part of a child’s nature. Excitement and expectation are extremely important in life. They are both vital traits that build a great future.

Our verse says that as we exercise such traits they cause us to become great in the Kingdom of heaven. There is no reason for us to exclude excitement and expectancy from our lives. They are designed to help build our present faith and construct our “mountain moving” faith for the future.

So, this week, join us in getting excited about what God has planned for the future. Build expectancy just like the 4 year old at the store. Don’t allow someone else’s wet blankets to put out your newfound fire and zeal. Instead let your excitement and expectation overcome every obstacle in your path. Before long you’ll be celebrating your arrival at the milestone and be looking forward to your next one.

Turbocharge Your Prayer

Jude 1:20 “But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the holy Spirit.” [MSG]

Every single one of us is on an earth journey that will involve times of spiritual attacks from the enemy. God wants us to overcome and not buckle under during these attacks.

When we receive Jesus He gives us the full armour of God but this is only the beginning. Our training is always ongoing. God wants us to become elite athletes in the realm of the spirit.

This is where our verse fits in.  God says we are to carefully build ourselves up by praying in the Holy Spirit.  Praying in the Holy Spirit means praying in our heavenly language – speaking in tongues. It’s a gift for all believers in Jesus Christ!

As we pray in our heavenly language we make our spirit strong.  This helps us to hear the voice of God more clearly and release a divine flow of strength from heaven to help us.

When we pray in our heavenly language we are praying the mind of the Holy Spirit over our situation and God’s answer comes forth.  We have done this many times in our lives and God’s Spirit has never failed.

Build your spirit strong… Pray in the Holy Spirit today!

A present for you…

1Peter 1:13 “So roll up your sleeves, put your mind in gear, be totally ready to receive the gift that’s coming when Jesus arrives”[MSG]

This week keep at the very front of your mind that Jesus is coming back!!! Not only is He coming back but He is also bringing a gift for YOU!!!

Now we all love receiving a gift. Whether it is Christmas, a birthday, a wedding or a coming of age celebration… we love getting the gift. Now think for a moment, what was the best gift you ever received? Well, it is going to pale into insignificance compared to the gift that Jesus is bringing when he arrives.

In the same way that we wait for our gifts at birthdays, Christmas, weddings or coming of age celebrations, we are to be waiting for Jesus to arrive with our gift from Him. While we are waiting we’re told to do 3 things…

1) Be Prepared – ‘Roll up our sleeves’
2) Be Focused – ‘Put our mind in gear’
3) Be Expectant – ‘Be totally ready to receive the gift’

Now this may sound easy but so many things on Earth fight at these 3 things. They try to rob us of the gift that is coming. Everything around us craves our energy, our focus and our reward. You and I are in a fight, a war, but we have been equipped to win. We can fight with confidence and receive our gift from Jesus by being prepared, focused & expectant.

This week stay in this zone of being prepared, focused and expectant so you can receive your gift when Jesus arrives in the centre of your world!

Every day…

Ecclesiastes 11:6 “In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening withhold not your hands, for you know not which shall prosper, whether this or that, or whether both alike will be good.” [AMP]

Every day we need to live our lives full of expectancy in God. This is a key way to fight off depression and wrong mindsets that have taken hold in our lives. As we go about our daily tasks of doing good and helping others, we must never tire in our generosity. Farmers will never tire in sowing seed – it is a way of life for them. Farmers know that if they stop planting seed then they will stop receiving a harvest in their future.

This verse helps us understand that we must develop a lifestyle of generosity. A life that gives all day long and never withholds. It is not necessary to know which seed produces our upcoming prosperity. We only need to know that we must plant in the right soil and continue to be generous people to prosper. Some people are generous on Sunday and stingy for the other 6 days of the week. They have just limited what God can bring to prosper their lives.

A harvest will come from every seed we sow – good or bad. Seeds are sown through the words we speak, the finances we give and the serving works that we do… the list goes on! These seeds will all prosper as a harvest in our lives. We must continually keep our expectation for the harvest on Jesus. He has a plan and a way of delivering it to us. Harvest often arrives in a completely different package or from a different source then we expect – but it will always arrive!

This week expect that God is going to prosper you! Don’t balk at the way He chooses to do it, the source it comes from or the package it arrives in – accept your blessing from God.
