Above and Before…

Proverbs 4:7 “Above all and before all, do this: Get Wisdom!”

The journey of life can become busy and overwhelming at times. People rush everywhere trying to do everything they possibly can. Often rapid-fire decisions are made with little forethought. These often prove to be big mistakes that carry a great cost.

In life we need to slow down! Our verse lets us know that God’s way to a successful life is to get His Wisdom above and before everything. This means that God’s Wisdom must come before our plans, desires and schedules and must be placed above our emotions, circumstances and feelings.

Whenever we disregard Wisdom we are heading towards disaster without knowing it.

We can never rush Wisdom; it takes time and energy to gain it. Our bible is chocked full of Wisdom for us to live by. It is there so we can successfully navigate every part of life. The key to getting Wisdom is to slow down and take our time to read, ponder and apply God’s Word to our lives before we do something, not after.

Whenever we prioritize God’s Word in our life we are prioritizing Wisdom in our lives.

This week put God’s Wisdom above and before our personal wisdom. Let’s SLOW DOWN and allow Wisdom to seep into the very depths of our hearts. Allow Wisdom to become the foundation of every decision made. Before long our lives will be flourishing and we will be a people of Wisdom.

Wisdom

Rising up…

Matthew 13:33 “The Kingdom of Heaven is like the yeast a woman used in making bread.”

Now I’m sure we have all seen the work that yeast does when we make bread. We put a very small amount in the mixture and in no time it has permeated the whole thing. Yeast doesn’t stop its work there though. It then begins to expand and stretch the dough until it is ready for baking.

This verse tells us that the Kingdom of Heaven, or more simply God’s way of doing things, works like yeast. You only need to introduce a little into your life and before long every area of your life is influenced by it. You begin feeling yourself stretching and expanding in God as it does its perfect work.

Often people ask us how to grow in God. The answer is to pick a truth from God’s Word and obey it. Let it into your life and it will begin working like yeast causing good change in so many areas.

This week why not do this for yourself. Open up your bible and locate a truth from God’s Word that you would like in your life. Do exactly what the bible says to receive it. Then allow it to commence working in you like yeast. Before long the Kingdom of Heaven will be permeating every part of your life and you will be growing in God like never before. It is a simple process with a powerful result – try it!

Wisdom…

Proverbs 8:34 “Blessed the man, blessed the woman, who listens to wisdom, awake and ready for me each morning, alert and responsive as I start my day’s work”

Some days we wake up feeling a little grumpy and it often effects our whole day. Other times we wake with joy and a heart full of hope. This often results in a day blessed from beginning to end. We soon discover that how our day starts often influences the direction it will take.

Our verse reassures us that we have the right to days filled with blessing and happiness. Whether we are male or female it is our right as born again believers. It also shows us that there is a specific way to achieve this in our lives.

Here is a key to experiencing this blessing. First thing every day we should wake up and find wisdom. As we continue through our day we must be alert and responsive to her voice.

So, how do we discover this wisdom? We open our Bible, the book of wisdom, and allow it to guide every part of our day. Every piece of wisdom we will ever need is contained in its pages.

This week why not start each day with wisdom. Before doing anything else seek some from the Bible. It will change your day. It will set you up for a blessed and happy time. It will allow God’s Wisdom to navigate your day rather than anything else. So, get ready for a happy and blessed week together!

Turbocharge Your Prayer

Jude 1:20 “But you, dear friends, carefully build yourselves up in this most holy faith by praying in the holy Spirit.” [MSG]

Every single one of us is on an earth journey that will involve times of spiritual attacks from the enemy. God wants us to overcome and not buckle under during these attacks.

When we receive Jesus He gives us the full armour of God but this is only the beginning. Our training is always ongoing. God wants us to become elite athletes in the realm of the spirit.

This is where our verse fits in.  God says we are to carefully build ourselves up by praying in the Holy Spirit.  Praying in the Holy Spirit means praying in our heavenly language – speaking in tongues. It’s a gift for all believers in Jesus Christ!

As we pray in our heavenly language we make our spirit strong.  This helps us to hear the voice of God more clearly and release a divine flow of strength from heaven to help us.

When we pray in our heavenly language we are praying the mind of the Holy Spirit over our situation and God’s answer comes forth.  We have done this many times in our lives and God’s Spirit has never failed.

Build your spirit strong… Pray in the Holy Spirit today!

Getting Promoted…

Daniel 3:30 “Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, in the province of Babylon” [NKJV]

This is a great ending to a very powerful bible illustration. As we know King Nebuchadnezzar had placed Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego into a fiery furnace as punishment. They met Jesus in that fire and came out unscathed and with a mighty testimony! They went through an integrity test, then a belief test and finally through the test of fire. When they came out of that furnace even the smell of the fire did not linger on them. They had received their promotion!

What a voyage to promotion this was for Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. Sometimes in life the promotion process can appear to be a seemingly endless and unfruitful time. A time when everything can appear to be the opposite of what we expect. There can be lies told about us, everything we believe in gets shaken and then to top it off we are thrown into a fiery furnace. “This can’t be promotion,” we often think. Then out of the flames, the fumes and the fire we see Jesus. He walks with us, bringing us to victory. Our promotion is here!!!

Each of us will go through the process of promotion in different seasons of life. As Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego came forth without the smell of the fire on them so too when we are rescued to our promotion the smell of adversity will not remain on us either. When we come out of the fiery test with Jesus the smell of the fire will not taint our promotion or our future.

This week Jesus is with you champion. Just as God rescued these three boys and then they were promoted, God is with you and you too will receive your promotion. Remember – there will be no sign lingering from the tests you went through to receive promotion... Just evidence that Jesus is with you!

Water Damage…

Matthew 21:21 “…if you have faith and do not doubt…” [NKJV]

Doubt causes delay in our lives. It is a much-loved weapon of the devil and a deception from the enemy. It is used as a destructive tool to stop us from walking in overcoming faith. Now, overcoming faith is what the bible describes in Hebrews 11 “By Faith” these great men and women of God overcame every impossible situation. “By Faith” you and I can overcome in exactly the same way!

Doubt gets into our life and minds like slowly seeping water. What was a damp spot yesterday is now a pool today and will be a raging river by next week. This is why Jesus says to have faith and do not doubt. Doubt in any quantity is very destructive.

At times in life we can come to a point of weariness in fighting our doubt battles. When we feel like this it is prime time to grab a hold of the following faith keys so that we do not succumb to the enemies plan.

  • God has heard your prayer
  • Your answer is on the way
  • Keep doubt out
  • Always keep going no matter what it looks like
  • Obey God
  • Follow His instructions

This week choose to activate these 6 vital keys in your life. Print them out and stick them to your bathroom mirror so that they are the first things you see each morning. They will help you to fight the good fight of faith and apprehend your victory in Jesus.
