Wanted Dead or Alive…

Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit”

People like watching a good cowboy movie especially on a wet afternoon. As the good guys pursue the bad guys we often see a sign with the villains picture that says “Wanted Dead or Alive.” The good guys keep chasing him down until they have their man.

Our verse tells us exactly who the villain in our life is; it’s our tongue, or more practically, the words that we speak. Each time we open our mouth we have the choice to speak words that bring life or ones that produce death. If we speak words of life then we eat the fruit of a great life.

This week let’s be like the good guys in the movie and pursue our words. Let’s take time to listen to ourselves and catch any words of death. Don’t concern yourself with what others say just focus on yourself and your words. Other people will eat the fruit that comes from their own words.

When you hear yourself not speaking life then pause for a moment, think and then speak out fresh words of life. You will train yourself into an abundant life in no time. Areas that you have struggled in will start to change. Good stuff will begin to grow and flourish in your life as you tend them correctly with your words.

We love you – have the greatest week!

Jesus He’s My Friend…

John 15:14 Jesus said “You are my friends if you do what I tell you to do”

We all need friends. As life goes on we soon discover that to keep them involves investment from both sides. Deposits of time, love, wisdom and understanding are just a few things that keep a relationship healthy. Making a choice not to invest in our friendships means that they will suffer and won’t grow how they should.

Our verse this week reveals how easy it is to have Jesus as our friend. It is a simple but often misunderstood truth. All we have to do is obey what he tells us to do and Jesus becomes our friend. Nothing more, nothing less, just obey.

If we disobey Jesus our friendship with Him suffers. He is always prepared to rebuild from the broken pieces but we must make a deposit first. We must return to the Bible and resume doing what He said. Then, before we know it, He’s counting us amongst His friends again.

Now, here’s the best part… Jesus’s friends are to be our friends too. There is absolutely no reason to ever be lonely again. Jesus wants us all to get along. His intention is that we build great friendships with Him at the centre of each one.

If making friends seems difficult then pal up with Jesus first. He’ll ensure that our friendships are sorted out quickly. Life will then become easier, more productive and have greater pleasure than can be imagined.

The Smart Choice…

Revelation 22:14 “BLESSED are those who DO His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of LIFE, and may ENTER through the gates into the city.” [NKJV]

Success starts with DOING God’s commandments! Not just knowing them but LIVING them out, doing them. Countless promises are attached to God’s commandments. Simply stated, God’s commandments are essentially His way of doing life. When we do things God’s way… we receive God’s promises.

Our verse shows us a small sampling of what happens when we DO it His way! We will be…

1) BLESSED…
This means fortunate, well off and happier. We are BLESSED because we belong to God and we are BLESSED so we can BLESS others.

2) LIFE…
We have the right to the tree of LIFE. We no longer abide in death… we have access to abide in and partake of LIFE for all of our days.

3) ENTER…
We are able to enter Gods presence through the gates of praise. We are not foreigners or trespasses, we can enter boldly and we will not be stopped. We are accepted in Gods city and best of all… He wants us there!

See for yourself… Say yes to living God’s way and these results will be yours.

Be BLESSED, partake of LIFE and ENTER in to His City, His presence.
