Faith, Hope, Love…

Psalms 95:6 “Come let us adore and bow down: Let us kneel before the LORD our maker for he is our God.”

As we approach the celebration of the birth of Jesus many people are busy organising last minute gifts to ensure that everyone is taken care of on the day. Christmas is a special time of outreach and inclusion, a time when we can share the love and goodness of Christ with others.

It is a time to stop and remember the reason for this season. We celebrate the love that God has for this world. His great love sent Jesus into the midst of all that was lost and dying. Jesus’ sacrifice allowed us to be reconciled back to God again as He laid down His life on the cross.

Now that is truly something that we should be thankful for. We should worship God because of it. As we come humbly before our Lord in this way we testify that we are His people and we are surrendered to His leadership.

This Christmas as we celebrate Jesus let’s also remember our maker and our God. Set aside time to adore, worship and bow down before him and express our love and adoration. Not only will this bring honour to God but it will also help to restore faith, hope and love to those around you.

The Road Ahead…

Exodus 15:18 “The Lord reigns for ever and ever”

Have you ever driven a road that looks like it lasts forever? Each time you turn a curve you discover that the road continues on, disappearing into the distance.

Our verse says that God’s reign, that is his control & influence, are just like a never-ending road. His reign goes beyond what we presently see or experience, all the way into the future. It runs right through eternity.

In our Christian life there are certain truths that we must settle. God’s reign over our life journey is one of them. It doesn’t matter what curves and turns we meet in life God must be allowed to lead and steer us on a course of safety.

Daily the enemy takes every opportunity to push and batter us. Nonetheless God’s reign, that is his control & influence, allows us to survive and navigates even the greatest attacks. God will lead us beyond what’s happening today towards a powerful and dynamic future.

This week, why not make an unwavering commitment to accept God’s reign afresh in your life. His plans and purpose for you are full of future and hope. God will securely take you forward on life’s path if you allow him. You will go beyond your current circumstance and, before you know it, you’ll be racing along life’s road again filled with faith and hope.

Happy Days…

Psalm 118:24 “This is the day which the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be happy in it.”

If we create something, we like to think that whoever receives it will enjoy it. This is not always the case. There is nothing gloomier than getting an ungrateful response from someone. The gift had no fault but the recipient did. Today’s verse shows us how we should receive the gift of time that God gives us.

Everybody has 365 days a year and God creates each one. No matter what day it is, as born again believers, we have an escape to the suffering and struggles that others accept. We decide exactly how we will live each day. My decision is always: “As for me and my house we will rejoice and be happy 365 days a year.”

Now I know you want days filled with happiness and rejoicing as well. The fact is that they are not difficult to create. Simply ensure that you follow Psalm 118’s two instructions:

  1. Acknowledge that God has made this day
  2. Make a firm decision to rejoice and be happy in it

Before you know it life will turn around. The mountains of discontent and worry that stood before you will come down. The light of a brand new day will flood your soul. You will begin to experience future and hope like never before. When this happens let others know that these happy days can be theirs as well, just like they are yours.

Three Gifts for You…

Isaiah 51:11 “Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.” [KJV]

I love a good song. There is nothing like singing out loud to our God. Even if it doesn’t sound perfect to us it is received into the very throne room of heaven as a sacrifice of praise.

This is where our verse fits in.  Because we have been redeemed by Jesus we should be singing God’s praises right into His throne room.  Even if we are in the middle of a trial, God wants us there singing.

As we do this we receive 3 magnificent gifts back from God:

  1. Everlasting Joy
  2. Gladness and Joy
  3. Sorrow and Mourning flee

The key to receiving these gifts is very simple. Just stand in your redemption. How you ask?  Let the redeemed of the Lord say so! Say it, sing it and declare it today!

So if you want everlasting joy, gladness, sorrow and mouring to flee… simply say out loud that you are redeemed of the Lord. These words will carry to heaven as a song of praise and you will receive God’s glorious gifts.

3 Gifts for you
3 Gifts for you

The Better Change…

Proverbs 19:21 “You can make many PLANS, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.” [NLT]

Long before a house is built there are PLANS drawn. As the building progresses we usually make many changes. When it’s complete we have a house that looks exactly the way we want. In a similar way we make our own firm PLANS for the future. As our lives progress God intervenes and makes adjustments to our PLANS so that our lives will end up looking exactly like He wants.

Here is how it works. When we make PLANS that are selfish or that are not right in God’s eyes… He intervenes. He may do this by using His word, other people or by speaking directly into our spirit. It doesn’t matter how He intervenes. What matters is our response. We must make corrections as instructed because God’s purpose will prevail.

This week stay close to the Holy Spirit. Listen for heavens PLANS. If His PLANS don’t match ours then it is time to adjust our PLANS. Remember, God’s purposes will always win so bond to His success. Don’t be an observer… become a part of His purpose here on earth today!

An Investment In Your Future…

1 Thessalonians 5:11 “So speak encouraging WORDS to one another. Build up hope so you’ll all be together in this, no one left out, no one left behind. I know you’re already doing this; just keep on doing it.” [MSG]

Do you have memories from school as teams where selected for sporting events? The greatest fear would be that you were left out, the last one to be picked or not selected to participate at all. God wants to change all that! His WORD says that no one is to be left out and no one is left behind. We are all to move constantly forward together.

Here’s how it works, by you and I consistently speaking encouraging WORDS and building hope in each other we will move forward together. We are told to not grow weary in our well doing. WORDS cost us absolutely nothing but can change a person’s life forever and produce eternally impacting results. Proverbs tells us that life and death are in the power of the tongue, so God wants us to tame our tongues and enable other people to grow and be encouraged by our WORDS.

Zeal and enthusiasm are contagious… they fill people with hope! Get started today, use your WORDS to build up and include others… then just keep on doing it.

Your Future & Hope…

Jeremiah 29:11-14 “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a FUTURE AND A HOPE. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you,” says the Lord. “I will END your captivity and RESTORE your fortunes. I will GATHER you out of the nations where I sent you and will BRING you home again to your own land.” [NLT]

This verse responds to a question in all our hearts – “Why am I here?” Our heavenly father’s tells us He has a plan for us that will give each one of us a FUTURE AND A HOPE! We’re not inconsequential or unimportant but rather we are a vital part of God’s plan on this Earth.

God says that he knows the exact plans that He has for us. His plans will produce good and give us a FUTURE AND A HOPE. If we’re experiencing any degree of failure in our lives then this is not a part of the plan that God has for us. We must reconnect with what God has prepared for us and return to it to obtain a FUTURE AND A HOPE.

We are presently living in the days that this verse is speaking about. A day where if we pray, God will listen. If we look for Him wholeheartedly, we will find Him. We can walk in this promise everyday of our lives. This promise from God will produce a FUTURE AND A HOPE.

His promise concludes with four powerful acts…

1. He will END our captivity (from any form of oppression)
2. RESTORE our fortunes (anything lost will be bought back)
3. GATHER us out of nations (rescue us from where we feel foreign or alienated)
4. BRING us home again to our own land (a place of peace and familiarity with our heavenly Father)

Remember today that God’s plan for us is to have a FUTURE AND A HOPE; it is a plan for good!
