Rising up…

Matthew 13:33 “The Kingdom of Heaven is like the yeast a woman used in making bread.”

Now I’m sure we have all seen the work that yeast does when we make bread. We put a very small amount in the mixture and in no time it has permeated the whole thing. Yeast doesn’t stop its work there though. It then begins to expand and stretch the dough until it is ready for baking.

This verse tells us that the Kingdom of Heaven, or more simply God’s way of doing things, works like yeast. You only need to introduce a little into your life and before long every area of your life is influenced by it. You begin feeling yourself stretching and expanding in God as it does its perfect work.

Often people ask us how to grow in God. The answer is to pick a truth from God’s Word and obey it. Let it into your life and it will begin working like yeast causing good change in so many areas.

This week why not do this for yourself. Open up your bible and locate a truth from God’s Word that you would like in your life. Do exactly what the bible says to receive it. Then allow it to commence working in you like yeast. Before long the Kingdom of Heaven will be permeating every part of your life and you will be growing in God like never before. It is a simple process with a powerful result – try it!

Your Bag Drop…

Philippians 3:13 “…but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead”

Whenever we fly it’s always a great feeling to drop the heavy bags off at the check-in. Once this is done we are free to move around and focus on what we want to do next. We really don’t give our luggage a second thought – we have left it where it belongs.

In this verse Paul tells us exactly how he navigates life. He drops off all the baggage of his past and then forgets about it. Paul does one thing… he focuses on his future. The reality is that you and I cannot change our past but we can build a great future in Jesus.

In reality, it’s almost impossible to advance trying to carry all the heavy bags from our past. Bags of hurt, shame, error and abuse are too heavy for us to move. We must give them to Jesus and make Him the “baggage counter” of our life. As we leave our luggage with Him, and forget about it, we can move easily into our future.

This week why not go to Jesus and check-in all the heavy bags of your past. Then forget about them, they are where they belong. You will be free to look forward to a fantastic future. Set your focus on it and before long you’ll be experiencing a new freedom in Jesus like never before!

Time for a Change…

Malachi 3:6 “I am the Lord, and I do not change”

Everything changes! Change affects things we want it to as well as things we rather it didn’t. It does not matter if it’s a hairdo, car, house, friendship or a season everything changes. We must continually remind ourselves that change is a vital part of life.

Our verse shows us that only one thing exists that will never change, and that is God. He is stable, unchanging and solid. He is the firm foundation for us to anchor our life to. God will not change in any way. If something is going to change it will be us, not Him.

People often find change difficult to navigate but it shouldn’t be. God’s Word tells us how to live and adapt to change. The simplest key to winning is for us to obey God’s Word no matter what! In times of change always remember that God’s Word is His Word is His Word! Stick with it and you will discover that His perfect plan will brilliantly come forth and everything will be OK because of it.

This week don’t let change intimidate you. Instead, open your Bible and anchor yourself to God’s Word. Let it change you. God will be there and before you know it things will be getting better. You will train yourself to like change instead of fearing it. Get ready for a powerful week ahead – we love you!

Today is the Day…

Luke 2:11 “For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” (NKJV)

This day actually occurred! Our Saviour was born and He is Christ the Lord. There is no need to doubt or to look for another Saviour because Jesus has already arrived. What a world-changing event our verse proclaims.

Jesus was born especially for you. He eternally changed your direction and restored joy, hope and peace to your life. Our restoration in Jesus was so complete it cannot be lost unless we decide to reject it. But who wouldn’t want joy, hope and peace in their life!

Jesus came to give you, your family and your friends joy, hope and peace. So why not tell them about this Good News when you see them at Christmas? Tell them about Jesus and give the Holy Spirit some seed to work with.  Jesus wants to transform their lives too.

It will be a change that they will be eternally grateful for!

The Better Change…

Proverbs 19:21 “You can make many PLANS, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.” [NLT]

Long before a house is built there are PLANS drawn. As the building progresses we usually make many changes. When it’s complete we have a house that looks exactly the way we want. In a similar way we make our own firm PLANS for the future. As our lives progress God intervenes and makes adjustments to our PLANS so that our lives will end up looking exactly like He wants.

Here is how it works. When we make PLANS that are selfish or that are not right in God’s eyes… He intervenes. He may do this by using His word, other people or by speaking directly into our spirit. It doesn’t matter how He intervenes. What matters is our response. We must make corrections as instructed because God’s purpose will prevail.

This week stay close to the Holy Spirit. Listen for heavens PLANS. If His PLANS don’t match ours then it is time to adjust our PLANS. Remember, God’s purposes will always win so bond to His success. Don’t be an observer… become a part of His purpose here on earth today!

Your Secure Investment…

Hebrews 6:18 “When God wanted to GUARANTEE his promises, he gave his word, a rock-solid guarantee—God can’t break his word. And because his word cannot change, the promise is likewise unchangeable.” [MSG]

How magnificent is our God! He has given us amazing, unchanging promises that he wanted to guarantee. That’s right, God wanted to add a GUARANTEE to every single one of His promises. He added His rock solid GUARANTEE to make His promises the most secure blue chip investment ever.

Now this offer is not “too good to be true.” It simply works this way: God gave his word as the GUARANTEE. Remember that God’s Word is Jesus. So God GUARANTEES all his promises with Jesus! Jesus is the rock solid GUARANTEE that ensures every promise of God is fulfilled. God never needs to change any of His promises because they are so secure they are impossible change.

This week, keep in mind that all God’s promises can be fulfilled in your life. God is not stopping them and neither should you. They are GUARANTEED to occur. They are unstoppable. So don’t give up, don’t draw back and never yield to a lie. God will fulfill all the promises He has made because Jesus GUARANTEES it!

A Strange Happenings…

Isaiah 28:21 “…He may do His work, His strange work, and bring to pass His act, His strange act.”[AMP]

You can never put God in a box in any way, shape or form. Our verse tells us that God has a “work” and a “strange work”; He can bring to pass His “act” and His “strange act”. When we look back through the bible and often in our own lives, it seems that the “strange act” and the “strange work” are the ones that have produced the key changes and the biggest fruit in our lives. For example we all know that God wants to prosper us – this is a “work” from God. But when it actually happens in our life it seems like a “strange work” because it happened in a way we could never have imagined.

Some of the circumstances that you may be going through at the moment could be part of a “strange work” of God in your life. God can be planning to bring forth a “strange act” in your future if you yield your will to Him. This week get prepared for a “strange work” and a “strange act” in your life. They are a very powerful, life changing events and are absolutely beyond what you could ever ask, think or imagine.

Who would ever want to opt for a conventional life outside of Christ? No Way!!!

This week do all you can to fulfill the natural parts of your life and let God put His “Super” on your “natural” and bring forth His supernatural results. Arrange your life to receive the strange (unique) act or work of God in your circumstances. Know that change is coming!!!
