Safe and Protected…

Proverbs 18:10 “The name of the Lord is like a strong tower. Those who do what is right can run to him for protection.”

I like looking at the picture that shows a tall lighthouse with huge waves smashing around it. The tower stands tall and solid while the ocean beats at it trying to destroy it.

That image always reminds me of Proverbs 18:10. It says that the Lord’s name is like this strong tower. It is a place that is immovable, safe and protected no matter what comes against it. It is a safe place where we can escape the violent storms of life and gain respite in times of difficulty.

Now, the key to entering our tower of protection is very simple. As we do things God’s way, the right way, we get access 24 hours a day – 7 days a week. We can run there no matter what is threatening us. We’re never shut out or excluded when we do things God’s way.

There will be times in life when we must run into His protection. He wouldn’t have provide it if we didn’t need it. So no matter what is threatening us, trying to wear us down or plans to destroy us God’s Tower of Protection is open for access. At these times RUN into His protection and everything will be OK!

The Road Ahead…

Exodus 15:18 “The Lord reigns for ever and ever”

Have you ever driven a road that looks like it lasts forever? Each time you turn a curve you discover that the road continues on, disappearing into the distance.

Our verse says that God’s reign, that is his control & influence, are just like a never-ending road. His reign goes beyond what we presently see or experience, all the way into the future. It runs right through eternity.

In our Christian life there are certain truths that we must settle. God’s reign over our life journey is one of them. It doesn’t matter what curves and turns we meet in life God must be allowed to lead and steer us on a course of safety.

Daily the enemy takes every opportunity to push and batter us. Nonetheless God’s reign, that is his control & influence, allows us to survive and navigates even the greatest attacks. God will lead us beyond what’s happening today towards a powerful and dynamic future.

This week, why not make an unwavering commitment to accept God’s reign afresh in your life. His plans and purpose for you are full of future and hope. God will securely take you forward on life’s path if you allow him. You will go beyond your current circumstance and, before you know it, you’ll be racing along life’s road again filled with faith and hope.

Help Wanted…

1 Chronicles 16:11 “Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.”

Have you ever seen a sign in a window that says “Help Wanted” In reality this sign is offering more than just employment. It is signaling that someone has discovered that they can’t accomplish all they want by themselves.

You and I can be in a similar position when we look at life and think, “I don’t have the strength to accomplish all of this.” These are the times when we need to put out our “Help wanted” sign to God.

Our verse lets us know that He will respond. He will allow us to draw our strength from Him. Now there’s an amazing key hidden in this verse that will have you feeling strong more often than you feel weak. The key is to seek God’s face continually.

Now a face always looks forward. God’s face is the same. We find His face as we look towards our future. We will never find His face in our past. As we look for God in our future we are ensured that He will be our strength.

This week let God know that you need His help. Stop looking for Him in your past and resolutely seek Him in your future. As we do this strength will flow from heaven enabling us to flourish into the future. It’s not difficult; you just have to look in the right direction – to God in your future!

We love you and believe in you.

Happy Days…

Psalm 118:24 “This is the day which the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be happy in it.”

If we create something, we like to think that whoever receives it will enjoy it. This is not always the case. There is nothing gloomier than getting an ungrateful response from someone. The gift had no fault but the recipient did. Today’s verse shows us how we should receive the gift of time that God gives us.

Everybody has 365 days a year and God creates each one. No matter what day it is, as born again believers, we have an escape to the suffering and struggles that others accept. We decide exactly how we will live each day. My decision is always: “As for me and my house we will rejoice and be happy 365 days a year.”

Now I know you want days filled with happiness and rejoicing as well. The fact is that they are not difficult to create. Simply ensure that you follow Psalm 118’s two instructions:

  1. Acknowledge that God has made this day
  2. Make a firm decision to rejoice and be happy in it

Before you know it life will turn around. The mountains of discontent and worry that stood before you will come down. The light of a brand new day will flood your soul. You will begin to experience future and hope like never before. When this happens let others know that these happy days can be theirs as well, just like they are yours.

You’ve Got It…

Revelation 19:16 “On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.”

One of the things that interest me about cities is that they are always growing. No sooner has one city built the highest building then another city is building an even taller one. They just keep growing and whatever stands the tallest catches our attention.

Life can be like these cities. Every day something rises up demanding our attention. As soon as we deal with it something else jumps up craving attention. It can seem never-ending.

This is where our verse helps every day. Jesus has the words “King of all Kings and Lord of all lords” written on Him. It perfectly describes who He is and where he should be ranked in our lives.

Jesus belongs at the very apex of life. He is to hold the place above every king, above every lord and above every situation that life might try to throw at us. When Jesus is prioritized in the highest place everything in life is subdued.

So, this week, let’s shuffle our priorities around. Before life’s problems have a chance to overwhelm us let’s place Jesus at the top of our schedule rather than the bottom. Instead of trying to “fit” Him into our day let’s make Jesus the reason for our day. This simple adjustment will cause every high and haughty thing in our lives to become low. It will cause victory in our life everyday!

Three Gifts for You…

Isaiah 51:11 “Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.” [KJV]

I love a good song. There is nothing like singing out loud to our God. Even if it doesn’t sound perfect to us it is received into the very throne room of heaven as a sacrifice of praise.

This is where our verse fits in.  Because we have been redeemed by Jesus we should be singing God’s praises right into His throne room.  Even if we are in the middle of a trial, God wants us there singing.

As we do this we receive 3 magnificent gifts back from God:

  1. Everlasting Joy
  2. Gladness and Joy
  3. Sorrow and Mourning flee

The key to receiving these gifts is very simple. Just stand in your redemption. How you ask?  Let the redeemed of the Lord say so! Say it, sing it and declare it today!

So if you want everlasting joy, gladness, sorrow and mouring to flee… simply say out loud that you are redeemed of the Lord. These words will carry to heaven as a song of praise and you will receive God’s glorious gifts.

3 Gifts for you

How Ya Doing…?

Psalm 35:27 “Let those who favor my righteous cause and have PLEASURE in my uprightness shout for joy and be glad and say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, who takes PLEASURE in the prosperity of His servant.” [AMP]

People often greet one another with three simple words, “How are you?” Most of us don’t even pay attention to what is said and quickly reply back “good thanks.” This week we see that God is very concerned about how you and I are.

In this Psalm the word “prosperity” means “welfare in health, peace and success.” God says He takes PLEASURE in the welfare of our health, peace and success.

Five simple habits to living in God’s PLEASURE are:

  1. To favor God’s righteous cause
  2. Take pleasure in uprightness
  3. Shout for joy
  4. Be glad
  5. Let our words continually magnify God

Let’s step up together into a new level of PLEASURE from God! Simply apply these five easy habits every day and God will cause our health, peace and success to come into balance. The result? God takes great PLEASURE in us as we obey and, before we know it, we’ll feel closer to God than ever before.

All The Right Ingredients…

Psalms 19:14 “Let the WORDS of my mouth and the meditation of my HEART , be acceptable in Your sight,
O LORD, my STRENGTH and my REDEEMER.” [NKJV]

Don’t settle for your thoughts when you can choose God’s thoughts! Here’s how it works… This particular verse shows us that the emphasis is on us to keep our WORDS and HEARTS in check.

We are instructed that we will come into God’s acceptable sight when the WORDS we speak and the thoughts of our HEART are in line with His Word. As we apply this in our lives He becomes our manifest LORD, STRENGTH and REDEEMER.

God has always been careful with His words and His thoughts toward us… we should be the same! Our WORDS are influential and they are powerful forces that flow from our HEARTS. We must take great care with them in our daily lives.

The message bible says it so beautifully…

Psalm 19:14 “These are the words in my mouth; these are what I chew on and pray. Accept them when I place them on the morning altar, O God, my Altar-Rock, God, Priest-of-My-Altar.” (MSG)

So if you want to enjoy God’s acceptable sight towards you today, chew on His thoughts, words and ways and place your WORDS and your HEART on His altar in prayer.

A Startling Fact About Fear…

Isaiah 41:14 “Fear not, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel! I WILL HELP YOU,” says the LORD, and your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.” [NKJV]

When we fear… the bible calls us worms! This is because worms eat, devour and spoil all the good in things turning them rotten. Worms are a part of the decay process and make stuff unusable.

Now, fear works exactly the same way in a believer’s life, as worms do in the natural. Fear eats, devours and spoils the goodness of the faith walk that we are on.

This is why God says, “I WILL HELP YOU” and commands us to FEAR NOT! When we allow God to help us and choose not to fear, He will show Himself as our Lord, our Redeemer, and the Holy One in our lives. As we allow Him to take this position then we will no longer fear and are no longer viewed as worms.

God is always on the look out for us. He continually looks for ways to help each one of us, He says “I WILL HELP YOU!”

Don’t yield to the destructive fearful worm mentality that will destroy your faith!

Act now! Let the Lord fulfill His word to you, “I WILL HELP YOU.” He will keep you strong and bold as you move forward, a champion in Christ.

Greater and Greater…

1 Chronicles 11:9 “So David waxed greater and greater: for the LORD of hosts was with him.” [KJV]

Whenever God is with someone or something it will grow to be greater and greater. Now this verse uses the word “waxed”. It means to expand, increase and enlarge. Whatever you are doing for the Lord it has the potential to expand greater and greater, increase greater and greater and enlarge greater and greater. This happens simply because the Lord of hosts is with you.

Each of us passes through seasons where it seems like things are not increasing like we think they should. These are often the winter seasons of our lives. They are times where everything seems dormant but in reality these times enable us to rest and refresh for the upcoming season of growth and fruitfulness that is arriving next.

Just as David waxed greater and greater, we can wax greater and greater because the Lord of hosts is with us. As we unreservedly follow Jesus, He makes each one of us so much stronger than we were 2 years ago, 1 year ago or even 6 months ago. Why? As God is with us He proves His greatness in our lives making it greater and greater.

This week seek to expand, increase and enlarge in your knowledge, understanding and intimacy with God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit and allow Him to cause you to become greater and greater!!!
