A Word Hidden…

Psalm 119:11 “Your word have I hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.”

Children love a game of hide and seek. As one child counts to 10 the others hide. Then the hunt begins to find them. There are often squeals and laughter as each child is found. The better hidden you are the less likely you are to lose the game.

Today’s verse gives us a very important key to building our future. It says we are to take the Word of God and store it in our heart. It is vital that God’s Word is the very center, the heart, of everything we do in life.

The more of God’s Word we store in our hearts means the less likely we are to sin. We will not miss, forfeit or lack the fullness that God has for us when we have His Word in our heart. It strengthens us to remain close to Him and ensures that we won’t easily be led astray.

Each week we post a fresh encouragement from the Bible. These are great words you can hide in your heart. You can visit this blog anytime and read our archives. Why not visit it whenever you feel you have a little extra room in your heart that needs to be filled by God’s Word.

Remember God instructs us because He loves us. Let’s respond to His love by taking His precious Word and storing it in our heart. It will allow our life to prosper like never before and ensure that we are equipped to win in our future!

You are You…

Matthew 5:5 “You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are – no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can’t be bought.”

As children we can all remember playing on the seesaw. At any given moment you would either be up in the air or down on the ground. If you stood carefully with a foot on each side of the center you could steadily balance the board and the ends of the seesaw became stable.

Balance is essential in life. Our days of blessing and contentment will offset the days of toil and labor. A balanced life is essential to our health but many things hinder it from happening. The ultimate solution to an unbalanced and unhappy life cannot be bought but it can be received.

Here is a key for a contented life. Simply accept who you are! Don’t act like someone else, think less of yourself or overestimate yourself. Just be you! After all you’re exactly what God wants! He wants to Bless your life.

So this week lets experience the presence of God by simply accepting ourselves. Let’s stop striving or underachieving and just be who we are. As we accept ourselves we receive a life that is a haven of contentment, peace, health and well-being. It will produce a life well beyond what we could ever afford. Today, join us in this challenge and obtain this beautiful promise over your life.

Today is the Day…

Luke 2:11 “For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.” (NKJV)

This day actually occurred! Our Saviour was born and He is Christ the Lord. There is no need to doubt or to look for another Saviour because Jesus has already arrived. What a world-changing event our verse proclaims.

Jesus was born especially for you. He eternally changed your direction and restored joy, hope and peace to your life. Our restoration in Jesus was so complete it cannot be lost unless we decide to reject it. But who wouldn’t want joy, hope and peace in their life!

Jesus came to give you, your family and your friends joy, hope and peace. So why not tell them about this Good News when you see them at Christmas? Tell them about Jesus and give the Holy Spirit some seed to work with.  Jesus wants to transform their lives too.

It will be a change that they will be eternally grateful for!

Who’s Looking At You…

Psalms 101:6 “Mine eyes are on the faithful of the land, to dwell with me, whoso is walking in a perfect way, he serveth me.”[YLT]

I don’t know about you but when we go shopping our eyes are constantly looking for a good deal on what we’ve set out to buy. We do this so we don’t miss what we’re looking for. In the same way God’s eyes are looking for the faithful of the land.

Now the word “faithful” in this Psalm means “BUILDER UPPER or SUPPORTER.” So, God’s eyes are upon those who build up and support others. I want you to know that God is looking at us right now. We have caught the eyes of God. This happens because he wants to dwell with us. That is what building up and supporting others does – it makes God want to dwell with us.

The word “perfect” means “INTEGRITY and TRUTH.” When we walk in integrity and truth we get to serve God from our hearts, not just as an outward action. This is one of the simplest keys to serving God and keeping His eyes on us!

This week faithfully BUILD UP and SUPPORT others, walk in INTEGRITY and TRUTH knowing that God’s eyes are upon us. We will dwell with him and serve Him like we never thought possible.

Desperately Seeking You…

1 Corinthians 12:26 “The way God designed our bodies is a model for understanding our lives together as a church: every part dependent on every OTHER part, …If one part hurts, every OTHER part is involved in the hurt, and in the healing. If one part flourishes, every OTHER part enters into the exuberance.” [MSG]

Today’s verse gives us a timely reminder that, in the body of Christ, we desperately need each OTHER. God’s design is that we depend on our brothers and sisters in Christ during both the good and bad times. Your future is dependent on OTHER healthy and functioning parts of Christ’s Church assisting you, as we need each other.

Now here’s the key. The parts of the body that are hurting must in due course get healed and whole. This is accomplished as OTHERS get involved and help us to get fit again. Healing can feel painful at times but when it occurs every part of the body flourishes again and we all enter into celebration as one.

So why keep yourself healthy in God’s Word? Why take good care of yourself Spirit, Soul and Body? The answer is simple: The healthier you are, the healthier OTHERS around you will be. This will cause a healthier, happier stronger church. We each affect OTHERS in Christ’s Body, so let’s always make sure we are not hurting OTHERS but helping them.
